5Nice tour of the wine growing region.
Excellent small group tour with George. Great information about the wine region and beautiful scenery. Well worth the trip for a full day. Would definitely recommend and do again. Thanks for a the great memories.
5Why you should pick the small group Douro River wineries tour
This is a long day, for sure, but worth it! The pace is slow-going with enough breaks; there were no huge crowds at any stop (this is mid-Sept). The first vineyard tour was detailed and interesting, with wonderful tastings of wines, port, honey and oils. Second stop was a wonderful lunch al fresco, followed by our 1-hour river cruise, final stop a port tasting. Our guide Sarah was fantastic: fluent in English, very knowledgeable about the wine industry, the Douro region and Porto. She was a great driver, up and down hill and dale-- very positive but not overly chatty.
5Amazing !
George the driver was the amazing The stops The wine The views The meal The value 5 Star Experience small group !
4Enjoyed the activity hated putting up with a noisy toddler
Alex was awesome. His knowledge and experience of the history, area and wine makes the trip. Why I didn’t give it 5 stars a couple brought a toddler and we had to put up with crying etc. I have booked many activities through Viator but will only book adults only from now on. It’s rude and selfish to take anyone under drinking age to bother the group!
5Alex, was an incredible...
Alex, was an incredible guide. The tour was the perfect blend of history, knowledge of the Douro valley, and humor!!!! So absolutely enjoyable from beginning to end!

About Porto
Porto tumbles down steep hills to the Douro River, a granite city of tiled churches, riverside cellars and port wine aged across the water.
The Ribeira district lines the riverbank with colourful houses, cafés and boats, part of a UNESCO-listed old centre beneath the iron arches of the Dom Luís I Bridge. Above it, the São Bento station hall is covered in blue-and-white azulejo tiles, the Clérigos Tower rises above the rooftops, and the Sé cathedral stands on its hill.
Top-ranked sights in Porto: Clérigos Church and Tower (Torre & Igreja dos Clérigos), Dom Luis Bridge (Ponte de Dom Luis I), Porto Cathedral (Sé Catedral do Porto).
