4Just long enough to see...
Just long enough to see everything comfortably without feeling rushed. Commentary was informative. Good value for money.
4A Good Way To Start A Lake District Stay
Fascinating introduction to the Lake District, its supporters, and its history. However, the recently acquired minibuses need to have one row of seats removed and the others repositioned to increase the legroom and make it easier to get into and out of the seats. Also, more time needs to be allowed when visiting Hawkshead - an extra 15 minutes would be better. Make sure that the tour is booked on a day when Hill Top is open, otherwise Beatrix Potter’s home will be missed.
5Introduction to Lakes District
Well organized with a great guide (Jason) excellent weather and enough time.
5Fabulous tour, Hill Top...
Fabulous tour, Hill Top is a gorgeous place to visit and we had plenty of time to explore the house and the village. Dave our guide was excellent, full of knowledge and a love for Beatrix which made all the difference! All the stops were beautiful (despite us having rainy weather) would absolutely recommend!!
4A mix of the strange and the very cool.
Directions were somewhat vague about the itinerary. I think the fact that a tour of Potter's home (not open on Fridays) was actually not available to us was not made clear in the itinerary write-up. To be honest I thought the B. Potter's "experience" was a bit lame. I did enjoy the boat ride, and the later drive around Lake Windermere seeing some of the local sites with Ed's narration was great.
5Beatrix Potter experience
Very informative and enjoyable. Our guide Jason was very good, very knowledgeable and friendly.

About Windermere
Windermere is England's largest natural lake and the Lake District town beside it, with lake steamers, high fells and literary homes close by.
Windermere is the largest natural lake in England, about seventeen kilometres long, its shores wooded and dotted with islands. The town of Windermere stands a little inland, and Bowness-on-Windermere on the water is the hub of boat life, with steamers and launches sailing to Ambleside at the head of the lake. A museum on the shore shows the lake's historic steam launches.
