Experience the best of Revelstoke

Revelstoke lies on the Columbia River in the Selkirk and Monashee mountains of south-eastern British Columbia. The Canadian Pacific Railway came through in the 1880s, and the town grew as a railway and logging centre; the heritage downtown has brick buildings from that time. Two national parks, Mount Revelstoke and Glacier, lie beside the town.

The Meadows in the Sky Parkway climbs Mount Revelstoke through forest to alpine meadows full of wildflowers in summer. The Giant Cedars Boardwalk crosses old-growth red cedar and hemlock forest, and Revelstoke Dam spans the Columbia to the north. The Railway Museum recalls the line's history, and Rogers Pass, in Glacier National Park, lies to the east.

A ski resort above town has long runs and deep powder snow, and trout and craft beer are on the menus of the downtown restaurants. Heavy winter snow keeps the mountain forests dense and green.
