Join this Basque cooking class and learn how to cook traditional pintxos and tapas of the Basque Country with a local Basque chef. Learn about local ingredients and spices, the story behind them, and how the locals enjoy these delicious bites. First, meet up with your instructor, who doubles as the chef for this class. Get introduced to the ingredients you'll be working with, and listen as you learn about each one's importance in traditional northern Spanish cooking. Then, get your hands into action as you mix, stir, chop, and begin to combine ingredients with the help of the chef, who will guide you through each step of preparation. As you begin to cook, sip on a glass of wine from the open bar. Finally, see the fruits of your labors come to life as 4 different pintxos are plated from your work. 1Fantastic Family Friendly Cooking Experience
Fantastic experience learning to make pintxos with Chef Mikel for our family with kids ages 10-16 from NYC. Highly recommend! A highlight of our trip. We are still making the recipes on a regular basis since we've come back home.
5Wonderful class with Mikel!
Mikel Larrañaga was fabulous. I'm not sure I'll ever make pintxos again, but I really enjoyed this class. Mikel made it so much fun. The others in the class were enjoyable and the facility was perfect. I highly recommend this.

5Take your pintxos knowledge to the next level
We took the pintxos course with friends, and it was a great addition to our Bilbao trip. Chef Mikel kept the class fun but also informative. Everyone got to participate, but Mikel made sure our efforts ended in delicious success. I felt the experience was a good value for the price and would recommend this class.

About Bilbao
Bilbao is a Basque city on the Nervión River, a former industrial port reborn around a titanium-clad art museum and an old quarter of pintxo bars.
Bilbao grew rich on iron ore and shipbuilding, and its industrial riverside has been turned to culture. The Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Gehry and covered in titanium, curves beside the river, with a giant flower-covered dog and a spider sculpture outside. The Fine Arts Museum, in a park nearby, and the Zubizuri footbridge by Santiago Calatrava are other stops.
Top-ranked sights in Bilbao: Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Casco Viejo, Bilbao's Santiago Cathedral.
