Highlights

Nature’s North Wildlife Gallery is much more than just a specimen gallery. You will take part in an artistic experience with many of the animals who call the Northwest Territories home. Two world renowned taxidermist and artist brothers, Greg and Dean Robertson, have come together to create a northern wildlife experience like no other. Each animal is displayed uniquely to try and capture a moment in the animal’s natural life. Many displays will tell you a story, bring out an emotion, capture a moment in time, show their playful side, or just leave you in awe of their natural beauty. Prepare to get up close and personal and experience the North’s creatures like you never have before. We will leave you with knowledge about northern animals in their natural habitat and memories you can share with family and friends.

About Yellowknife

Yellowknife, capital of Canada's Northwest Territories, sits on the shore of Great Slave Lake and is known for its gold-mining past and northern lights.

Yellowknife grew in the 1930s after gold was found on the north shore of Great Slave Lake, and it became the territorial capital in 1967. Old Town, on a rocky peninsula, holds floatplane docks, houseboats moored in the bay and weathered log buildings. The Bush Pilot's Monument on the Rock looks across the water, and the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre tells the story of the territory's Indigenous peoples.

Top-ranked sights in Yellowknife: Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre (PWNHC).
