5An incredible night under the desert stars
My husband and I went on the overnight camel safari 4A and had the best time. Our guide Dilbagh and his assistant were incredibly kind and we learnt a lot about camels and life in the desert. The meals (2x breakfast, 1x lunch, 1x dinner) were cooked right there in the desert on a fire and were super delicious and generous portions. Our camels were well treated, calm and kind. After the tour we were given a full hostel room with a shower to clean up (definitely necessary after a night in the dunes) and rest. We were even dropped at the train station. The real highlight was sleeping under the stars though: the beds were comfy and the blankets nice and thick, so that we could enjoy the desert aircon without feeling cold. Thanks Trotters for this incredible experience!
5Sleeping under stars
We had a fantastic overnight experience in the Desert. Trotters looked after us well and were very attentive. Our bed was up on a sand dune snd the expanse of stars was incredible, the experience fed our souls. We felt honoured that our guide took us to meet his lovely family in the village and have chai. It really does feel that Trotters value their guests.

5Non-Tourstic Safari Camp
I had one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I never thought I’d get the chance to sleep in the desert under the open sky—it was truly unforgettable. The Trotters staff were wonderful; they shared their stories and experiences, which made the journey even more special. Bhati Sahab was incredibly humble and modest, personally taking us around and explaining every sightseeing spot. An experience I’ll always remember.
5Very enjoyable in the desert
Trotters tour and travelers from organized camel safari an unforgettable camel safari across the golden desert to enjoying traditional desert cooking, every moment was truly special. We also got to experience the breathtaking desert landscape and views. As the night came, we were given a comfortable bed right in the middle of the desert. Lying down under the open sky, surrounded by silence and watching countless stars above us, was an incredibly beautiful and unforgettable experience. ✨🌌
5A MUST DO LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE!
Our desert safari in Jaisalmer was, without a doubt, one of the most incredible experiences we had in India. It was authentic, unforgettable, and truly felt like we were experiencing something special rather than simply taking a tourist trip. From the moment we were picked up, everything was handled with incredible care. The transportation, the camel rides, the campfire, the sleeping accommodations, the meals—every detail was thoughtfully organized and exceptionally well done. Everything was spotless and incredibly clean, which made the entire experience even more impressive. What was also very unexpected and great was that we made a few stops to some of the more sacred grounds on the way to the desert. So we were able to really get seeped into the culture of the entire area as well. But what made this safari truly extraordinary were the people. Our guides—Goman, Jagan, Piru, Chutra, and Whasu—were absolutely unbelievable. Their warmth, hospitality, humor, and genuine kindness made the experience unforgettable. They took such incredible care of us that it genuinely felt like we had become part of their family. And that feeling extended to everyone else on the safari. There was such a wonderful sense of community and camaraderie that it never felt like we were simply a group of tourists on an excursion. And of course, we have to mention the camels. Connor, Johnny Walker, Chhagen, and Ali Baba became part of the experience too. The camel rides through the desert were incredible, and having names for each of them somehow made the whole adventure even more memorable. The food was absolutely delicious, especially considering that we were out in the middle of the desert. Every meal was prepared with so much care, and both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Sitting around the campfire, listening to our guides sing traditional songs, surrounded by the desert and the stars, was one of those moments that you know you will remember forever. Fyi Mr. Joe is a renaissance man. The guy cooks, sings, and guided us on the camels!!! The entire experience was also incredibly safe. Not once did my partner or I feel unsafe, and neither did any of the other people traveling with us. Everything was handled professionally and thoughtfully from beginning to end. And then there is the value. For everything that was included and the quality of the experience we received, this was an insanely good value. The amount of care, hospitality, food, transportation, camel rides, accommodations, entertainment, and overall service that went into the experience was remarkable. It honestly felt like we received a five star experience at a fraction of what you would expect to pay for something of this quality. If you’re visiting India, make this a priority. And honestly, even if India isn’t currently on your travel list, I would tell you to go to India and make this trip part of your itinerary. The desert, the people, the hospitality, the food, the music, the camel rides, the campfire, and sleeping under the desert sky all came together to create something truly magical. A huge thank you to Goman, Jagan, Piru, Chutra, and Whasu for making this experience so special—and to Connor, Johnny Walker, Chhagen, and Ali Baba for carrying us through the desert. This wasn’t just a safari. It was an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. Absolutely five stars, an incredible value, and highly, highly recommended.

About Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer is a golden sandstone fort town in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan, with a living hilltop citadel, carved havelis and camel treks to the dunes.
Jaisalmer rises from the sands of the Thar Desert near India's western border, and the honey-coloured stone of its buildings has earned it the name Golden City. Its fort, founded in 1156 by the Bhati ruler Jaisal, stands on a hill above the town, with houses, shops, temples and guesthouses still inside the walls. It is one of the few forts in India where people still live, and it belongs to the Hill Forts of Rajasthan World Heritage listing.
