Highlights
Our location is very unique and our family are our dogs. We do have over 100 friendly and lovable dogs on site. "We are a place for people who love dogs". It is important that you are very comfortable around dogs to fully enjoy this experience. We are located outside the city light pollution so northern lights are visible directly overhead of our lodge. No need to drive anywhere. In addition to that we are located at the shores of the Takhini River and for as long as the river is not frozen (until late October) there is a chance to get mirror pictures of the Northern Lights.

5Amazing and more!
This was a bucket list trip for my 60th birthday. My husband, three sons and partners all had the best time. Manuela's customer service was happening long before we started the trip with a great packing list and quick e-mails. We were greeted by Jeff at the airport. Their lodge is comfortable and welcoming but the best part is the retired dogs lounging around. Manuela is an amazing cook; lots of snacks available any time. The sled dogs are all friendly and happy to see you. We were all impressed by how well loved all the dogs are. We went dog sledding, visited a wildlife park, snowmobiling, ice fishing and visited the spa. All the guides were fantastic! They were so knowledgeable and made the trip really fun. Even in -42 we were warm in the gear Jeff set us up with. We were also lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. I recommend this trip to anyone who wants a taste of the Yukon. It was a trip I will definitely do again!
5Amazing Yukon Adventure
It was an amazing time. My son and I did three nights, two days of dog sledding, animal preserve, snowmobile, ice fishing and everything was brilliant. Manuela and team are truly gracious hosts, she’s a great cook and getting to meet people from all over the world, in this case Mexico and Switzerland was truly an extra bonus. The double extra bonus were getting to see the Northern Lights, this was a magical experience.
5The Best of Whitehorse
Manuela and Jeff and their crew are fabulous, hosts, cooks, tour guides—you name it. They do it all! We had comfortable beds, a lovely bathtub and shower at the end of long days of dogsledding, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. It was cold enough to be bracing but sunny and mild—like spring skiing. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the lodge were healthy and delicious, always with special treats (think buffalo spaghetti sauce or mixed berry cheesecake). And the retired indoor dogs were friendly and relaxed, just like us! Highly recommended for both summer and winter. You’ll have a ball!!! Ooops, forgot the two nights of Northern Lights! Gorgeous!!!
5An Un-fur-gettable Dogsledding Adventure!
We had one of the best experiences of our lives! Manuela is a sweetheart, you can tell she loves what she does and adores the dogs. She is super attentive, and a great guide. The dogs are adorable and so good at what they do! It was super easy to "drive" the sled, in all honesty the dogs know what they are doing, they don't need much input.
5The people and dogs are the highlight of a Muktuk experience!
Had a fantastic visit with Manuela, Jeff and the dogs. The humans at Muktuk are smart, funny, compassionate people who know every single dog inside and out. Take the time to do the same and you are guaranteed an experience that you will remember. The accommodations are rustic but comfortable (they have to be with dogs around every moment of every day!), Manuela’s cooking is fantastic, and our experiences were awesome- ice fishing, snowmobiling, wildlife preserves and hot springs in addition to the dogsledding. The Northern Lights aren’t a tour per se, more a “get your butt outstanding and look for em” mindset. Even so, as someone who only experienced them once before, I was beyond excited the simply be there and witness them. At the end of the day, for me, it was the souls of the dogs and people that have left a lasting impression. I hope to come back as many times as I can!
5Best Sled Dog Experience Ever
Wow, had such a great time on this adventure. Jeff Larsen and his wife, the owners and their staff are very professional and make this adventure as safe as possible. My 13 yo grand son was able to control and ride a team of sled dogs. We had 6 of us in our group and had 5 sleds. Wonder location, wonderful experience, the dogs are so friendly and full of energy. We have been on two other sled dog experiences and this was the BEST. Truly the thing that impressed me was Jeff and his wife, take care of these dogs and they are like family. From puppy, to working sled dog, to retirement dog. They take care of them all. They run an ethical and human dog sled program and love doing it and it shows. Thank you for a great time and we will be back, we had a BLAST. Signed, The Ross and Julie Larsen Family.

About Whitehorse
Whitehorse, capital of Yukon, stands on the Yukon River among forested hills, a gold-rush town with long summer days and northern lights in winter.
Whitehorse lies on the Yukon River in the south of the territory, beneath wooded ridges, and was a rest stop for prospectors on the way to the Klondike in 1898. Its name came from the rapids that once ran through Miles Canyon, said to look like the manes of white horses. The SS Klondike, a restored sternwheeler, rests on the riverbank as a reminder of the river-boat era.
