In this tour of the ancient city of Athens, we will learn about the history and archaeology of the ancient city. We will learn how ancient Athens was created, how the temples of Athena were constructed on the Acropolis hill and what was their function. Itinerary
We will visit the famous Acropolis hill where we will see the Parthenon, Erectheion, Propylaea, Sanctuary of Dionysos and Sanctuary of Asclepios (admission ticket is 20 euros per person)
Acropolis Museum houses the artefacts that were discovered at the Acropolis area during the excavations of the 19th and 20th centuries. We will also see the famous sculptural decoration of the Parthenon (admission is 15 euros per person)
We will have the opportunity to visit the centre of the ancient temples and see the public buildings, temples, ancient courthouses. We will talk about the bird of democracy and daily life in the centre of the ancient city (admission ticket is 10 euros per person)
Walk through the old part of Athens and see how the city involved throughout the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras.
