Highlights

A small group guided tour from central Cardiff taking in the very best beaches and historical sites on the Gower peninsula, the first Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK, in the company of your driver guide, either Kate or Andy a fully qualified Green Badged Tourist Guide. First stop is Mumbles, we'll spend a short time in this little seaside holiday town, stretch your legs along the recently refurbished promenade and have a look in some of the independent shops. Three Cliffs Bay, the mainly flat walk (3km in total) to the beach across the stepping stones is sublime, the beach generally very empty of people, with gorgeous views over Three Cliffs, not forgetting the crumbling, but majestic, Pennard Castle. We'll then visit Gower Heritage Centre, working 12th century watermill and museum. Finally, Rhosilli and the famous Worms Head is a must with any trip to the Gower. Rhosilli Bay with its 3 miles of golden sand is often featured as the best beach in the UK. Swim is optional!

About Cardiff

Cardiff is the capital of Wales, with a castle in the city centre, Victorian arcades, a waterfront bay and a rugby stadium in the heart of town.

Cardiff Castle stands in the middle of the city, with Roman walls, a Norman keep and a Victorian Gothic interior created for the Marquess of Bute. Bute Park, along the River Taff, runs from the castle walls to the city's edge, and the Principality Stadium, the home of Welsh rugby, towers over the centre. Victorian arcades hold independent shops, and the covered market sells Welsh cakes.

Top-ranked sights in Cardiff: Barry Island (Ynys y Barri), Cardiff Castle (Castell Caerdydd), Caerphilly Castle (Castell Caerffili).
