Highlights
Step into the heart of Basque gastronomy. On this guided pintxos food tour in Bilbao, your local guide brings the flavours, traditions, and stories of the region to life. Sip ice-cold txakoli, our local wine, try premium Rioja wines, and enjoy authentic Basque tapas —los pintxos—prepared in both traditional and modern ways. Our tour offers enough food and drinks so you won’t need to plan for a meal afterwards. In just three hours, you’ll hop between a curated selection of bars: some well-known favourites, others true local secrets. In a small and intimate group of max. 6 people, you’ll wander the narrow streets of the Casco Viejo, your expert local guide creates a personalised route that guarantees a surprising, memorable, and truly authentic experience. You won’t just explore Bilbao, you’ll become part of our cuadrilla, our circle of friends. With 6 pintxos and 4 drinks, this is more than a walking tour. It’s a delicious, story-rich deep-dive into Basque culture and cuisine.

4Great guide, tour pricey.
The guide was really good, knowledgeable and genuinely wanted us to enjoy the experience. The cost was pricey compared with other food tours we have done in Spain. We had the best desert we have ever tasted, the pastry was so light and the filling exquisite. (we can't remember it's name).
5Robert was an excellent...
Robert was an excellent guide leading us through several bars/restaurants (with great food and wine) while providing some interesting information about the life in Bilbao and the Basque Country. Great value overall.
5Wonderful experience!
Our Pinxtos tour was terrific: our guide Roberto took us to amazing pinxtos bars that were historic, had great food, wine, and with informative and fun conversation. The only issue we had was that we didn’t do it sooner in our stay in Bilbao!
5Fascinating and very enjoyable evening with a great tour guide
Our guide OSCAR was outstanding. When local disruptions appeared to be about to affect our tour he contacted us quickly and helpfully rearranged dates . He had wide and interesting knowledge of the city , the country and local affairs and of course food and wine.He was very happy to answer our questions and change his proposed walking route and visits to suit our interests .As we walked around saw several interesting sites in the city . He was very friendly and ensured we all had a very enjoyable and interesting evening. We visited several very different pubs and tried a range of foods ,snacks and drinks. It was a great evening thanks to Oscar - we would all highly recommend the tour and Oscar in particular,
5Exceptional gastronomy experience- loved it !!
Absolute pleasure being guided by Oscar - informative, friendly and generally wonderful food and drink suggestions. We are well travelled and have no hesitation in strongly recommending this excellent experience. Oscar’s knowledge of Bilbao and sharing little nuggets of information/anecdotes made a good experience into exceptional! We visited 4 bars renowned for their exceptional food and drink , whilst hearing about the history and culture . Thank you Oscar ! It was a real pleasure to meet you.
5Walking Food Tour in Old Town Bilbao – Highly Recommended!
My wife and I joined a Thursday evening walking food tour in Old Town Bilbao, and we happened to be the only guests that night. Far from diminishing the experience, it made the tour feel even more personal. Our guide, who grew up in the neighborhood, shared his deep knowledge and passion for the area. He tailored the evening to our interests—history, culture, and of course, the food! The streets were buzzing with locals and tourists alike, creating a wonderful vibe. The pintxos were excellent, and every stop our guide chose was spot‑on. Between the atmosphere, the flavors, and the insights into Bilbao’s heritage, this was a truly memorable experience. I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting the city. * Apologies for not taking more pictures during the tour but I was too busy enjoying the food and drinks! 🙃

About Bilbao
Bilbao is a Basque city on the Nervión River, a former industrial port reborn around a titanium-clad art museum and an old quarter of pintxo bars.
Bilbao grew rich on iron ore and shipbuilding, and its industrial riverside has been turned to culture. The Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Gehry and covered in titanium, curves beside the river, with a giant flower-covered dog and a spider sculpture outside. The Fine Arts Museum, in a park nearby, and the Zubizuri footbridge by Santiago Calatrava are other stops.
Top-ranked sights in Bilbao: Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Casco Viejo, Bilbao's Santiago Cathedral.
