5Newcastle, the heart of the Industrial Revolution
Great tour, very knowledgeable guide who led us at a good well measured pace. Lived in Newcastle for 45 years, still so much history of the city to learn.
5Insightful and fascinating tour
Martin took me on a fascinating tour of Newcastle. His knowledge of the city's rich history as well as its current developments is truly impressive. He also showed me places I would never have explored on my own, including the Lit & Phil Library and one of the city's beautiful churches. Although the tour was quite extensive, it remained engaging and enjoyable throughout. By the end, I felt I had gained a comprehensive understanding of Newcastle and its unique character. Highly recommended.
5Wonderful tour!
I 5/5 totally recommend this tour! My tour guide was awesome - very kind and knowledgeable!
5Wonderful introduction to Newcastle
Excellent walking tour of Newcastle. The guide was both affable and knowledgeable. I recommend taking this tour your first day in Newcastle so that you can use the knowledge from the tour to enhance the rest of your time in Newcastle.
4Newcastle
The tour guide was very good but the city is not as interesting as some others. He tried very hard to give us facts about Newcastle.
5Eye opening tour even for locals
Did this walk with my husband and daughter. We are in our 60s she is in her 30s. We have lived in Newcastle for decades but we all found this tour very interesting and informative. Really opened my eyes to how much the country and the world owes to the great minds of the region . Who knew. Not me. Loved the little unknown nooks that Martin showed us. The place is steeped with history. Wear sensible shoes.

About Newcastle-upon-Tyne
Newcastle upon Tyne is a river city in north-east England, with a Norman castle keep, a row of bridges over the Tyne and a revived quayside.
Newcastle grew around a Roman bridge crossing and takes its name from the castle begun here in 1080 by Robert Curthose, son of William the Conqueror. The stone keep still stands above the railway, beside the Black Gate. The Tyne is crossed by the Swing Bridge, the High Level Bridge and the steel arch of the Tyne Bridge, and Grainger Town has classical streets of the 1830s with Grey's Monument at their heart.
