Itinerary
We will be able to visit the statue of Jafuda ben Cresques, a 14th century Jewish cartographer who made the world-famous Catalan Atlas map that Christopher Columbus might have used in his travels. We will walk down Leather Maker Street and learn about the old bakery named Can Miquel that up until recently was still in use and is known to be built on the site of the “sinagoga nova” or the “new synagogue.” We will look for signs and clues hidden within the walls and street names that reference a once prominent Jewish past. Together we will admire a mural that was recently painted during the pandemic highlighting a well-documented history of lust and conflict that took place between two Jews in the Tower of Love during the 1300s. We will also visit the site of the main synagogue where the Montesion Church now stands and walk down the Street of the Wind where you may find something surprising.

About Mallorca
Mallorca is the largest of Spain's Balearic Islands, with a Gothic cathedral in Palma, a rugged north-west mountain range and coves of clear water.
Mallorca lies in the western Mediterranean, an island of limestone mountains, almond and olive groves and a long, indented coast. Palma, the capital, is dominated by La Seu, a Gothic cathedral that rises over the bay, and by the Almudaina Palace beside it; the circular Bellver Castle looks down from a forested hill. The old town has quiet courtyards, boutiques and tapas bars.
Top-ranked sights in Mallorca: Palma Cathedral (La Seu), Sóller , Royal Palace of La Almudaina (Palau de l’Almudaina).
