  • 5A great experince all round, its noisy, dusty, and loud, but I wouldn't expect anything else

We were staying at a hotel 5 minute walk from their site, so walked. Recieved a warm welcome, showed our drivinf licence, were given a QR code which linked to a web page to fill in your details. Once everyone was all ready, we watch a short video, then were give our guide who gave us all our instructions for safety. we were given goggles to wear, that fitted nicely over my glasses, and put on my snood for the dust. He was very friendly, and went to each buggy to talk a few things over, and show us how to start and stop them, then we were on our way. The buggies are great fun to drive, the steering is heavy, like a go kart, but they are very easy to drive. with no windscreen it gets windy, noisy and dusty, but I didnt expect anything other than this. We did a bit of road driving, then hit the trails, it is probably 70% off road, with some fairly smooth, some washboard surfaces, and some real deeply pitted tracks, that really show what the buggies are capable of. After about an hour driving we stopped by Ermita de las Nieves on the Risco de Famara. Our guide gave us some interesting history of the chuch itself, the mountain, and the islands and surroundings We were then given the option to swap drivers, then headed back down. In all it was a bit longer than 2 hours in the buggies, was a great fun, and informative trip, with the chance to see parts of the island you would not normally be able to in a car. I would 100% recommend this to anyone with a sense of adventure, getting away from the tourist hotspots, having a bit of a blast, and wanting to get a bit more excitement than sitting by the pool or bar.

  • 5One of the best thrill-seeking activities on the island!

2 adults, 2 teens in one buggy. What a day! Had so much fun, saw some amazing sights. Went through some REALLY rough terrain, along some mountain roads with steep drops. Had a stop halfway for a breather. Make sure you wear old clothes and footwear - you will get very dusty. Also, if tempted to just wear short and t-shirt, be sure to protect yourself from the sun. Doesn't feel like it when travelling, but you'll end up red raw! Would definitely recommend this, and will even do it again!

  • 2Disappointing.

Disappointing experience! We drove the buggy on main roads at high speed in busy traffic for 30+ minutes. It felt quite unsafe. Stopped for a walk to volcano. Our tour guide was nice & gave us some information. That took approx. 20 minutes. Back into buggy for a another high speed drive to a rock face structure which was enjoyable and well explained by our guide. This was another 10-15mins here and then back into the buggy for a short off road experience, followed by another high speed drive back to base. A slower drive on parts of the main roads would have been appreciated so we could take in our surroundings. As we were the 5th buggy at the very back it felt like we're constantly chasing to keep up because inevitably cars are going to get between us and the other buggies at roundabouts and junctions. Overall I wouldn't recommend. Not the fault of our guide, he was nice. Just the experience is poor unfortunately. I'm sorry we didn't do something else instead.

  • 5Great activity for family or friends

I would highly recommend this activity while visiting Lanzarote. It’s a great experience and is a great way to explore the island with your family or friends. The tour guide that we had was amazing. You can pay an extra €25 for a photo package and it’s 100% worth it!

  • 5Great buggy Tour

Very well organised tour. Lots of communication prior to the tour and picked up from our ferry terminal and dropped back. The guide was knowledgeable and the buggies were great fun. Well recommended. Lots of off road tracks to the top of a mountain.

About Lanzarote

Lanzarote is the Canary Islands' volcanic island of black lava fields, white villages, vineyards in pits and landmarks shaped by the artist César Manrique.

Lanzarote is one of the easternmost of the Canary Islands, a volcanic island of lava fields, cones and a dry, sunny climate. Between 1730 and 1736 eruptions buried a number of villages, and Timanfaya National Park preserves that landscape of black and red craters, where guides show how the heat just beneath the ground can boil water. The artist César Manrique shaped much of the island's look, limiting building heights and keeping villages white with green and blue trim.

Top-ranked sights in Lanzarote: Timanfaya National Park (Parque Nacional de Timanfaya), Jameos del Agua, El Golfo.
