Experience the best of London

London, Ontario, lies on the Thames River in south-western Ontario, roughly midway between Toronto and Detroit, and borrows many of its names from its English namesake: the Thames, Oxford Street, Piccadilly and Covent Garden Market. Known as the Forest City for its many trees, it is a regional centre and the home of Western University.

Springbank Park runs along the Thames with paths and a children's park, Eldon House, built in 1834 for a pioneer family, is the city's oldest residence and a museum, and Museum London shows art and local history. Fanshawe Pioneer Village recreates nineteenth-century life. The beaches of Lake Huron at Grand Bend and of Lake Erie at Port Stanley are within about an hour.

Covent Garden Market sells local produce, baking and cheese, and the farmland of south-western Ontario supplies corn, soybeans and vegetables. The four seasons are distinct here, with autumn colour along the river valley.
