  • 5Best activity in Jasper

We spent four days in Jasper and did some amazing activities, but this canoe trip with Mike was our favourite. Why? Firstly, Pyramid Lake is beautiful and once you get away from the shore incredibly peaceful. Getting away from the crowds can be a challenge in the national park so pulling up to a secret beach with time to really take in the majesty of your surroundings was wonderful The handmade cedar canoe is also special, and a really smooth ride. I had only canoed a couple of times before, but you do as much or as little as you feel like and Mike takes care of the steering. So even if you are a complete beginner, give it a go. As always, it's the person running the trip who makes it and Mike was brilliant. He pointed out lots of wildlife, whipped out a picnic at secret beach, took a genuine interest in his guests and was a true ambassador for Jasper. Thank you for a lovely memory.

  • 5Wonderful evening canoe trip, the best experience of our holiday!

This was without doubt the best experience of our holiday to Canada and far exceeded our expectations... We (family of 4 - mum, dad, two teens) joined our guide, Mike, for a private evening canoe trip on beautiful Pyramid Lake. Mike arrived promptly at the agreed meeting place, which was well communicated and easy to find. We set off from shore at 5pm and pretty much straight away had the lake to ourselves. Mike is a fantastic guide and made sure that we crossed the lake safely while explaining how to use the wind to our advantage. He had some great stories and told us a lot about the surrounding area and the different wildlife that we might be able to see. We were lucky enough to see a bald eagle perched in a tree by the shore... quite how Mike spotted it before we got close enough for a proper look, I've no idea! We really loved the little rest from paddling on the 'secret' beach and the hot drinks and baked snacks were delicious. Highly recommend this trip, thank you so much Mike for a beautiful evening.

  • 5HIGHLY recommend for families

This was the best canoe ride I've ever been on! It was wonderful to have my whole family in one canoe (both my parents, my husband, and my 3 boys). The stop with "treats" on the secret beach was WELL above my expectations - I was not expecting warmed sandwiches and hot drinks! Our guide was amazing and truly made the experience magical for us. I HIGHLY recommend for anyone traveling with family in Jasper. Thank you Wild Current Outfitters!

  • 5A beautiful, tranquil morning on the lake

What a beautiful, tranquil morning out on the lake with Travis! Canoeing out on Pyramid Lake would be a treat in any circumstances, but doing so with his generous expertise and kindness made it very special. We learned such a lot about the local flora and fauna and really genuinely felt connected to the nature around us. Such a pleasant experience - thank you, Travis!

  • 5Lovely morning on the lake

Our morning on the lake canoeing was fabulous. Mike had every possible need covered (hot drinks and pastries, blankets, binoculars, etc) and was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and history of the area. It was a fantastic excursion.

  • 5Miss this Canoe trip at your Peril.

Mike you are something else ! Your intimate connection to this fascinating Lake just makes me want to listen to you more and more. Your care for all that happens on and in the Lake is to be respected, From the Loons to the Eagles to the Wild Life that frequent the lake like Moose , taught us the careful Eco that Mother Nature has created. But serving Tea ( or Hot Chocolate) and Cakes within the Canoe brought and extra smile and extend your warm heart to us all. Despite canoeing being our first occasion it was simple fun and surprisingly easy under your tutor ledge. Anybody reading this our message is simple, miss this Adventure at your peril . Hope you have a great season and keep building these impeccable Cedarwood stable Canoes !
