Highlights
This is an authentic experience exploring an abandoned mine, with various optional challenges; involving climbing, an abseil, a tyrolean (short zipline) and a short boat crossing. There isn't anything artificial about this trip with the addition of safety anchors being the only changes you'll find in the mine, where necessary, as such, it is most similar to caving with the only lights being those on your headtorches (provided). This is the perfect family adventure, Stag/Hen do activity and couple challenge.

5Awesome extreme caving experience!
If you fancy something different and adventurous then the extreme caving is perfect. From a short abseil into the caves then exploration underground (be prepared to get wet!) with alternative route options for the braver people, to climbing out of the caves, the whole experience is really good fun. Sol the guide meets you near the entrance, kits you up in suitable gear that's all clean. Sol is brilliant, very patient and encouraging for the more nervous of our party and knowledgeable about the caves themselves. We talked a couple of times beforehand and Sol made sure we knew what to expect. If we return to Wales we will definitely be doing other adventure activities with Sol. Highly recommend!
5Exploring a Lead Mine
We had an amazing time with Sol exploring a lead mine. Sol is very knowledgeable about the mine and its history, and ensured that we had a smooth and safe trip through the various levels of the mine, would definitely recommend 👍🏼
5Amazing!
Absolutely fantastic day! The guide was experienced and freindly. The activities were amazing! Highly recommend! Will definately book again!
5Really fun caving, very friendly and experienced guide
Our guide Sol was really nice, very generous, and very experienced. It was very wet, and he let me borrow his waterproof bottoms for the whole caving experience, and I would've been drenched without them. He clearly knew what he was doing and knew a lot about the place and told us loads of cool facts! Loads of activities to do in the cave like ziplining abseiling, and walking up a waterfall which was amazing!
5Best family day out in ages (maybe ever???)
We did this trip as part of our family holiday, with my kids aged 6,9 and 11. We all loved it. The trip leader was brill. He tailored the experience to what we needed. Gave loads of interesting facts about the mine and was really encouraging and kind, supporting the kids to do things that were out of their comfort zone. One of the best days out we have had in ages. A really unique experience, we loved it. Definitely value for money

About Betws-y-Coed
Betws-y-Coed is a village in the Conwy Valley, in the wooded northern gateway to Snowdonia, where three rivers meet beneath forest, falls and mountains.
Betws-y-Coed lies where the Conwy, Llugwy and Lledr rivers meet, in a wooded valley at the edge of Snowdonia, or Eryri. The stone Pont-y-Pair bridge crosses the Llugwy among boulders, Thomas Telford's cast-iron Waterloo Bridge of 1815 carries the London to Holyhead road, and Victorian painters came by railway to sketch the falls and woods.
