  • 1Not worth it.

The location was challenging to find as the map on viator was different than when you enter location into goggle maps. While walking there stressed we were going to be late the guide called stating we needed a taxi to get there because we were that far away. It was very difficult to understand him though so someone else had to talk to us. We finally found the dock and arrived before the departure time but you could tell the guide was frustrated. He basically drove the boat around the St Lawrence river for 50 minutes and did not explain much about the city or sights. The only positive from the cruise was the lovely people we met. We thoroughly enjoyed the conversation while on the St Lawrence river.

  • 1Nope

I would not recommend this tour. Poor communication. Commentary is very limited. Also, despite having room on another boat, they had our family cram into a full boat. We didn’t even get to sit together (there were only 3 of us). Combine that with mostly silence from the guide/captain - it was very weird. Not an enjoyable experience. I have never been so ready for an excursion to be over.

  • 5Not an architecture tour, but a fun ride at sunset

Fun trip in a small boat around the port of Montreal, the man-made islands, and the St. Lawrence river. It's light on history and facts about the region...the main point is to see Montreal at sunset from the water. The boat captain is a great guy who is always up for answering your questions, though, when you do have them. Fun time on the water, and even though it was a fairly cold night, they had clear plastic sheeting covering the front of the boat and blocking the wind, so even the back of the boat wasn't really cold. Overall, a fun time that's inexpensive...well worth the trip!

It was a great experience! Very beautiful sunset and great photo op’s. We even helped a stranded vessel away from the current. Great trip!

The sights were fun to see. The boat ran a little too fast for our liking. We prefer a slower ride. We overall enjoyed ourselves. But it wasn’t what we consider “a cruise. Ps. Nothing personal against the Captain, she was great. She should have a microphone that could project her voice better.

About Montreal

Montreal is a French-speaking island city on the St Lawrence River, with a cobbled old port, a mountain park and a lively food and festival scene.

Montreal stands on an island in the St Lawrence River, rising to Mount Royal, the wooded hill from which it takes its name. Old Montreal has cobbled streets, stone warehouses and Notre-Dame Basilica, whose deep-blue vaulted interior is covered in gold stars. Frederick Law Olmsted, designer of New York's Central Park, laid out the park on the mountain, and a lookout over the downtown towers sits near its top.

Top-ranked sights in Montreal: Old Montreal (Vieux-Montréal), Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal (Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal), Bonsecours Market (Marché Bonsecours).
