Itinerary
Start the day with Red Valley offering unforgettable hiking experience (nearly 5 km) at the one of the most attractive valley in Cappadocia. You will feel mesmerized at the end of the hiking.
The Columned Church, located inside the Red Valley. As we walk through the valley, you will see this impressive rock-carved church, named after its elegant stone columns.
The Church of the Cross (Haçlı Kilise), one of the hidden treasures of the Red Valley. You’ll recognize it by the distinct cross carved into its ceiling — the feature that gives the church its name. Dating back to the 9th or 10th century, it was carved directly into the soft tuff rock and used as a place of worship and retreat. Its simple interior, combined with the natural light filtering through small openings, creates a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere amidst the valley’s striking red rocks.
The Church of Three Crosses, located near the end of the Red Valley hike. It takes its name from the three beautifully carved crosses on the ceiling — a symbol of the Holy Trinity. The church dates back to the 9th–10th centuries and was carved entirely out of soft volcanic rock. Though its decoration is simple, the geometric reliefs and crosses reflect the spiritual devotion of early Christian monks who once lived here. It’s a peaceful and inspiring stop to end the hike, surrounded by the silence and natural beauty of the valley.
Çavuşin Village. It offers a fascinating glimpse in to the rich history and unique landscapes of area.
This is the Church of Saint John the Baptist in Çavuşin, one of the oldest and largest rock-cut churches in Cappadocia. It dates back to the 5th century and was dedicated to John the Baptist, known for preaching repentance and baptizing Jesus. The church stands on a high rock, offering a panoramic view of the village and the valley below. Although parts of it have collapsed over time, its high barrel vaults, wide nave, and traces of early frescoes still reveal its grand and monumental character — a true testimony to the early Christian faith in Cappadocia.
Explore fascinating underground tunnels, rooms, and passages of Kaymaklı Underground city, which was once a refuge for early Christians.
Final destination is Pigeon Valley offering breathtaking view nestled amidst towering rock formations. With it is serene ambiance and picturesque surroundings, Pigeon Valley captivates visitors with its ethereal charm.

About Goreme
Göreme sits in the heart of Cappadocia, a surreal landscape of fairy chimneys, cave churches and dawn skies filled with hot-air balloons.
Göreme's houses and hotels are carved into soft volcanic rock, and the town is ringed by valleys of cone-shaped fairy chimneys shaped by erosion. The Göreme Open-Air Museum gathers rock-cut monasteries and churches whose frescoes, painted by Byzantine monks, still glow with colour, especially in the Dark Church.
