  • 5Cooking class with a welcoming family

The experience was very wholesome. It began with a trip to the local market to source ingredients with lovely Zeinab and Shaima (both fluent in English). Not only did we buy the ingredients, we tried some local fruits too. The cooking class with the head chef was at a comfortable pace and all steps were explained clearly. We wanted to learn how to make a beef tagine with prunes. This was not on their list but the head chef and the girls were so accommodating. They included this in the menu upon our request. They went above and beyond, arranged a spot for us to pray, showed us what ingredients to source to take back to the UK, translated recipes in English and helped us secure transport back to Sale'. We had the best experience and will remember this for years to come. Thanks for your efforts. With our love and duas for barakah x

What an enjoyable experience and privilege to have prepared and shared a meal in a local home. Loved the market too. Thank you Zineb and Auntie.

  • 5Wonderful experience

My sister and I took this class with Mohammed/mother/cousin while visiting Morocco in July. The multi-course meal we prepared and shared together was most delicious! A wonderful and not to be missed Moroccan experience.

  • 5Best Meal in Morocco

Hands down the best food we had in Morocco, and there were a lot of competition for the title! What a delicious treat to be able to cook Moroccan dishes alongside Mohamed and his mother, who worked as a chef! We came up with a menu with Mohamed’s help and went to the local market to pick up items. It was fun to see the options that were available locally! When we arrived to to Mohamed’s, we were welcomed into their cozy home by his lovely mother. We started cooking quickly and soon were learning how to get things done in the kitchen in ways we had never thought to do so before! Skills were definitely gained in this venture. It was great for everyone to eat together alongside Mohamed’s family and chat. In addition to nice conversation, what was heard was the sounds of joy as we tucked into every dish. Such a great experience; if you want to explore making Moroccan cooking, or honestly just have a tasty home-cooked meal, we highly recommend it!

About Rabat

Rabat is Morocco's calm Atlantic capital, with a hilltop kasbah, a medieval tower, a royal mausoleum, Roman ruins at Chellah and a river-mouth beach.

Rabat lies on the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the Bou Regreg river, facing its twin city Salé across the water. The Kasbah of the Udayas, a 12th-century fortress with blue-and-white lanes and an Andalusian garden, stands on the cliff above the river mouth. Nearby, the Hassan Tower is the unfinished minaret of a mosque begun in 1195, surrounded by rows of broken columns. The mausoleum of Mohammed V, guarded by horsemen, stands opposite.

Top-ranked sights in Rabat: Hassan Tower (Tour Hassan), Kasbah of the Udayas (Casbah des Oudaïas), Mausoleum of Mohammed V (Mausolée de Mohammed V).
