It is one of the largest and most imposing Portuguese aqueducts and the connection between both monuments is indispensable, since the construction in the 16th and 17th centuries, with about 6 kilometers, was built with the aim OF making the supply OF water to the Convent. Over the centuries the lagars had several owners, but they always retained the original trace. At the top OF the abbey DA the tower DE access, we can see grave DA the cross of gold DE m of Christ and the first sketches of the project, which date back to the 16th century and were in charge DE Filippo Terzi, also master of the works of the Convent of Christ.
City founded by Gualdim Pais, Templar master, in 1160. There will be a short walk around the city. There will be a stop for lunch at this location.
Located in the center of the city of Tomar, the Church of St. John the Baptist was originally built in the 17th century. XV, but rebuilt in the 19th century. XVI. In 1520, King D. Manuel elevated the Church to the Collegiate, thus assembling to integrate the chapels of the royal patron.
The primitive church dates back to the twelfth century, under the command of D. Gualdim Pais, master of the Order of the Templars, to serve as a burial ground for the Freires. The present church corresponds to the XIII century, to the reign of D. Afonso III, instituted like the most emblematic work of the national Gothic architecture. His planimetric model served as an example for other religious temples, both cathedral and conventual from north to south.
The castle of Almourol, located on a small island that was already inhabited at the time of the Roman occupation of the peninsula, from the 8th century, was occupied by the Muslims, who will have conquered it to the Visigoths. In the context of the Christian reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula, Almourol was conquered by D. Afonso Henriques in 1129, who gave it to the Order of the Temple.

About Lisbon
Lisbon spills down its hills to the Tagus estuary, a city of tiled façades, rattling yellow trams, viewpoint terraces and late, unhurried dinners.
The old quarters hold most of the charm. Alfama's tangle of lanes climbs to São Jorge Castle and echoes with fado in the evening, the Baixa's orderly grid runs down to the vast Praça do Comércio on the river, and Bairro Alto and Chiado mix bookshops and cafés by day with bars by night. Viewpoints such as Santa Luzia and Senhora do Monte frame red rooftops and shining water.
Top-ranked sights in Lisbon: Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio), Pena National Palace (Palacio Nacional da Pena), Alfama.
