Itinerary

  1. At 488 meters above sea level, the Peninha Sanctuary enchants with its unshakable magic and mystique. Built out of popular devotion, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Penha (Peninha) arises following a supposed apparition of Our Lady to a poor shepherdess. This architectural complex also consists of the centuries-old hermitage of São Saturnino and an enigmatic romantic-revivalist palace built in 1918.

    30 min

  2. Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of mainland Portugal and continental Europe. About 150 meters from the sea, here you can have a comprehensive view over the Serra de Sintra and the coast, which makes the visit worth it. Historical records point to the existence of a fort in Cabo da Roca in the 17th century. XVII which played an important role in guarding the entrance to Lisbon, forming a defensive line along the coast, especially during the Peninsular Wars. Currently there are only traces, apart from the lighthouse which continues to be an important point for navigation. It is part of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and is one of the reasons for interest in the hiking trails that can be taken here along the coast.

    30 min

  3. Praia do Guincho is a beach in the parish of Alcabideche, in the municipality of Cascais, in Portugal, approximately 8 km from the county seat. On the west Atlantic coast, it is very windy and has good conditions for surfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing.

The historic center is home to the Casa de Santa Maria, the Santa Maria Lighthouse, the São Jorge Fort, the medieval Nossa Senhora da Luz Fortress and the Cidadela Palace, a former royal retreat. About Lisbon

Lisbon spills down its hills to the Tagus estuary, a city of tiled façades, rattling yellow trams, viewpoint terraces and late, unhurried dinners.

The old quarters hold most of the charm. Alfama's tangle of lanes climbs to São Jorge Castle and echoes with fado in the evening, the Baixa's orderly grid runs down to the vast Praça do Comércio on the river, and Bairro Alto and Chiado mix bookshops and cafés by day with bars by night. Viewpoints such as Santa Luzia and Senhora do Monte frame red rooftops and shining water.

Top-ranked sights in Lisbon: Commerce Square (Praça do Comércio), Pena National Palace (Palacio Nacional da Pena), Alfama.
