On this private full-day tour, see the island's natural beauty, history, hidden corners and authentic traditions with a local guide who grew up here. Pickup from your hotel, apartment or port, then a scenic drive to Napoleon's Fortress, 250m above Hvar Town, with panoramic views over the Pakleni Islands and the Adriatic. Travel quiet inland roads past lavender fields, vineyards and stone villages: Velo Grablje, once the heart of European lavender production, and abandoned Malo Grablje, with roofless stone houses and a preserved 1894 olive mill. Next, Stari Grad, one of Croatia's oldest towns: visit Tvrdalj Castle and stroll the historic streets. Continue through the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain, farmed since ancient Greek times, and reach Humac, a 15th-century stone village with sweeping views over vineyards, forests and sea. From this exceptional viewpoint, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over Hvar Town, the Pakleni Islands, and the sparkling Adriatic — an inspiring introduction to the island's natural beauty.
Our third stop is St. Roko’s Chapel, a place with a wonderful view of Stari Grad town ans Stari Grad Plain (UNESCO World Heritage). Continue to Velo Grablje, a 16th-century village once celebrated as a center for wine, olive oil, honey, and lavender oil production
The tour then leads to the abandoned village of Malo Grablje, left behind in the 1960s. Explore roofless stone houses, a historic olive mill, and peaceful courtyards while learning the story of daily life here.
Discover Stari Grad, one of Croatia's oldest towns and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore its charming stone streets on a guided walk, visit the historic Tvrdalj Castle, and enjoy free time to relax by the waterfront, browse local shops, or savor authentic Dalmatian cuisine at a traditional konoba.
Continue through the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain, an agricultural landscape unchanged since ancient Greek times, with fields, dry-stone walls and olive groves still farmed using the original layout.
Reach Humac, a 15th-century stone village high above the island, with sweeping views over vineyards, forests and the sea.
The day ends at a family-run konoba with a genuine Dalmatian meal: slow-cooked dishes, local wine and olive oil, before your transfer back to your hotel, apartment or port.

About Hvar
Hvar is a long Adriatic island of lavender, vineyards and Venetian stonework, with a harbour town beneath a hilltop fortress.
Hvar town curves around a harbour on the island's south-west coast, with a broad stone square, a Renaissance loggia and a Venetian arsenal. The upper floor of the arsenal holds a theatre dating from 1612, among the oldest public theatres in Europe. Above the town, the fortress on the hill gives the best view over the red roofs and the Pakleni Islands offshore.
Top-ranked sights in Hvar: Pakleni Islands (Paklinski Islands), Hvar Spanish Fortress (Tvrdava Fortica), Cathedral of St. Stephen (Hvar Cathedral).
