  • 5A Gem near Victoria

We had a nice walk through a forested trail that led to Hatley Park, which we enjoyed thoroughly. We enjoyed learning about the flora of the area and the trail was quite peaceful. The Japanese and Italian gardens around Hatley Castle were beautiful. Richard was our guide and he did a great job. I contacted the tour operator because this rainforest hike is currently not available. Alan contacted me and explained that this is his company’s busy season and they don’t usually offer this hike at this time. He offered to accommodate our request and we booked the tour for the next day. Thank you Alan and Richard for the wonderful afternoon!

  • 5Enjoyable hike

Beautiful walk, not difficult. Our guide, Alan, was informative about the trees, history of the area and its indigenous people and how they used the bark of the trees. He was incredibly helpful to me, navigating parts of the path more difficult for me ( mobility issues), lending a hand and arm. He was a very nice man.

  • 5Saturday Morning Saunter

Richard was a fabulous guide, filling us in on all manner of Victoria and Vancouver Island information. We came off a cruise and they reached out to suggest a hotel closer to the port, which was much appreciated. We walked a lovely woodland path and a Japanese garden. Richard kindly dropped us off near to our lunch spot. I definitely recommend them if you're in Victoria and need an activity.

About Victoria

Victoria, capital of British Columbia, is a harbour city at the southern tip of Vancouver Island, known for gardens, old stone buildings and afternoon tea.

The Inner Harbour is the centre of Victoria, ringed by the copper-domed Parliament Buildings, the Royal BC Museum and a château-style hotel, with floatplanes landing on the water and street performers along the causeway. Behind it, narrow lanes lead to Chinatown, the oldest in Canada, and to Bastion Square. Craigdarroch Castle, a Victorian mansion on a hill, has stained glass and carved woodwork, and Beacon Hill Park runs down to bluffs above the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

Top-ranked sights in Victoria: Butchart Gardens, Victoria Inner Harbour, Government Street.
