The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus was located on the western coast of Asia Minor (modern Turkey) and was built in the 6th century BCE. Such was its tremendous size, double the dimensions of other Greek temples including the Parthenon, that it was soon regarded as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
ON REQUEST, The Church of the Virgin Mary was the first of the churches dedicated to the Mother of Christ. It is also the most significant building from Christian times in Ephesus.

About Bodrum
Bodrum, on Turkey's Aegean coast, is a whitewashed harbour town beneath a Crusader castle, with ancient ruins and coves, facing the Greek island of Kos.
Bodrum curves around two bays beneath the Castle of St Peter, a fortress built by the Knights of St John in the fifteenth century and now home to a museum of underwater archaeology. The town stands on the site of ancient Halicarnassus, birthplace of the historian Herodotus, and the remains of the Mausoleum, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, lie in a quiet garden.
Top-ranked sights in Bodrum: Castle of St. Peter (Bodrum Castle), Orak Island, Black Island (Kara Ada).
