Itinerary

Changla Pass is one of the highest motorable mountain passes in the world, located at an altitude of approximately 17,590 feet (5,360 meters). It lies on the route from Leh to Pangong Lake and is the third-highest motorable road globally. Named after Saint Changla Baba, the pass is not just a gateway but an experience in itself. As you ascend, you’ll witness dramatic changes in landscape—from barren mountains to snow-covered peaks and icy winds. A small temple dedicated to Changla Baba sits at the top, where many travelers stop for a quick prayer and photo. Despite its rugged terrain and chilly winds, Changla offers unmatched views of the Himalayas, and the drive is a highlight of the Pangong Lake journey. Note: Due to high altitude, travelers are advised to spend limited time at the pass and stay hydrated.
A spectacular high-altitude lake famous for its changing shades of blue and dramatic mountain backdrop. Spend time exploring the lakeside, taking photos at the “3 Idiots” point, and enjoying serene Himalayan landscapes before returning to Leh.

About Leh
Leh, the main town of Ladakh high in the Himalaya, is a Buddhist trading centre with a hilltop palace, monasteries and desert mountain scenery.
Leh stands at about 3,500 metres in the Indus Valley, with bare brown mountains around it and snow ranges behind. The nine-storey Leh Palace, built in the 17th century in the style of the Potala in Lhasa, overlooks the old town, and the Namgyal Tsemo monastery crowns the ridge above it. The Shanti Stupa, a white-domed peace pagoda, has views across the valley.
Top-ranked sights in Leh: Pangong Lake (Pangong Tso), Thiksey Monastery, Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers.
