In Arromanches, you'll be transported back in time to witness the ingenuity of the Allied forces during World War II. Today, you can still see the remnants of the artificial Mulberry harbor that was constructed here to facilitate the unloading of troops and supplies. The panoramic views of the coastline are breathtaking, and you'll gain a deep appreciation for the strategic significance of Arromanches during this pivotal moment in history.
Longues-sur-Mer is home to a well-preserved German coastal battery. The four artillery casemates overlook the English Channel and were part of Hitler's Atlantic Wall defense system. You'll have the opportunity to explore these imposing fortifications and learn about the intense battles that took place here on D-Day. The site offers remarkable views of the surrounding landscape and provides a glimpse into the challenges faced by both Allied and German forces during the invasion.
As a charming fishing port, Port-en-Bessin played a crucial role during the Normandy landings, serving as an important logistics hub for the Allied forces. Today, it exudes tranquility and offers a picturesque setting to explore. Your guide will share stories about the port's significance during the war and the remarkable efforts made by the soldiers to secure this vital harbor.
Omaha Beach is one of the most famous landing sites of D-Day and holds significant historical importance. Here, you'll stand on the same sands where thousands of American troops bravely stormed the shore amid heavy gunfire and artillery. Your guide will provide a moving account of the challenges faced by the soldiers during this intense battle. As you walk along the beach, you can pay your respects at the memorials and reflect on the valor and sacrifice of those who fought here.
The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, situated on a bluff overlooking Omaha Beach, is a poignant and deeply moving tribute to the fallen soldiers. As you wander through rows of white marble crosses and Stars of David, you'll experience a profound sense of gratitude and respect for those who gave their lives for freedom. Your guide will share stories about the individuals laid to rest here and provide insight into the profound impact of their sacrifices on the course of history.
Cider tasting is optional in the Tour. Indulge in a sensory journey at Ferme de la Sapiniere where centuries of cider-making tradition await. Nestled in the heart of Normandy, this historic cidery offers more than just delightful beverages; it's a portal to the past. Founded in the 16th century, this cider has stood witness to the region's rich history, including the tales of Château de la Percée, a nearby castle that once hosted noble gatherings. Today, as you sample their exquisite ciders crafted from locally grown apples, you're tasting the essence of Normandy's heritage. Savor each sip amidst the rustic charm of the cideries, where the art of cider-making has been perfected over generations. It's not just a tasting; it's an immersion into the soul of Normandy.
As we pass through Bayeux on our return journey, catch a glimpse of its medieval charm, highlighted by the striking Bayeux Cathedral. Dating back to the 11th century, this Gothic masterpiece is a testament to the town's rich history. Enjoy a fleeting view of Bayeux's quaint streets lined with timber-framed houses, offering a snapshot of its timeless beauty as our adventure come to its end.

5Don’t miss, memorable at all ages!
Greatest possible way to feel the environment, understand the history, see the sights and laugh with Emmanuel. Small things make the difference and Emmanuel was that difference A master of balance—time, knowledge, personality, humor, concern for our well being and comfort.. Bring a jacket can be cool because of sea. A must if in Normandy. My wife who is afraid of escolatars was at ease because of Emmanuel.
5Great way to see WW2 sites in Normandy
Incredible tour! Manuel and Thierry were great drivers and guides. Friendly and a vast knowledge of WW2 and the area. The sites themselves are interesting, moving, somber and still beautiful. I only wish we had more time, but we were constrained by our train schedules. Would recommend the longer tour if you have time! We had beautiful weather and scenery so the sidecars added a little extra fun to the journey. Great value overall, definitely recommend!
5The best way to see the D-Day sites!
This experience was unbelievable. Our tour guide, Terry, was the best. We were able to go to sites that large tours could not get to. He also explained a lot to us about the D-Day landings and was funny and accommodating. We would recommend this to everyone. The motorcycle and sidecar were comfortable and enjoyable.
5Fantastic Sidecar Tour of D-Day Sites and Countryside
This was our favorite tour experience by far. Riding the motorcycle and sidecar through the quiet backroads of Normandy felt like going back in time. Our guide, Thierry, knew the area and the history and took us to the bunkers and turrets above Omaha Beach at a place not easily accessible by car so we enjoyed it alone before returning to the lower beach other other stops. I’d highly recommend this experience and Thierry is an excellent and safe driver, the sidecar is comfortable, and riding on the back of the motorcycle is too. (My teen son and I swapped spots at times.) Thierry has rain gear (it had rained before our ride), gloves, helmets, etc. I would definitely take this tour and so much better than being in a minivan or car for a private tour. Thank you, it was fantastic!
5Try something different!
You have your own personal tour guide. It was a fun unique experience. The guide was knowledgeable and we enjoyed him so much.

About Bayeux
Bayeux is a small Norman town of medieval lanes and a Gothic cathedral, home to a famous embroidery of the Norman conquest and close to the D-Day beaches.
A strip of embroidered linen almost seventy metres long, made in the eleventh century, tells the story of the Norman conquest of England in 1066 and hangs in its own museum in town. The cathedral, whose crossing spire towers over the rooftops, was consecrated in 1077 with William the Conqueror present. Bayeux escaped bombing in 1944, so its old centre of half-timbered and stone houses along the River Aure is largely intact.
Top-ranked sights in Bayeux: Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.
