Starting from our meeting point, we will be touring the most popular sights of this city, making stops along the way to taste unique flavours at carefully selected stores. Nafplio is a seaside town in the Peloponnese, once the first capital of modern Greece, with Venetian lanes, a harbour fortress and a hilltop castle.
Nafplio sits on the Argolic Gulf in the north-eastern Peloponnese, a town of neoclassical mansions, Venetian houses and flower-hung balconies climbing from the waterfront. It was the first capital of modern Greece, from 1823 to 1834. The Bourtzi, a small castle on an islet, guards the harbour, and Palamidi, a Venetian fortress on a rock above the town, is reached by a long staircase or by road.
