  • 2Montreal Gyp Line

This would better be titled Montreal Gypline Adventure. Having done ziplines in other countries and locales, I can affirm that this was one of the shortest, least exciting, worst managed, dingiest, and most expensive per second of action ever--$25 American for about 10 seconds of zip..The infrastucture launch and landing towers look like those rickety scaffolding setups you see in NYC. The interiors were dark, dirty, rusty, and suspect. The personnel were bored, hasty, and unconcerned except with upselling me to video recordings.. After finishing, I and a family of three were left waiting, alone, at the exit room at the bottom of the landing tower, for a lonnnng time. I picked up a radio off the counter and tried to raise someone. No luck. The father of the family shouted up to get somebody. No luck. I finally shucked out of my harness and helmet and was letting myself out when a guy came down. All in all, a gyp, not a zip.

This was very cool. The operators were so kind and helpful. The experience itself was exhilarating and really neat. For those scared, they harness you in and gently set you off down the line. You don't have to actually step or jump off any platform on your own. It's still scary a bit, but you sit down and feel the cable holding you while you're still on the platform. That helps a ton. The walk up the stairs is probably the most nerve wracking part the first time. We did it twice!! It's an extra charge, but glad we got the video. Do you need it? No, but it's a fun way to see yourself a few times during the ride itself.

My kids adores the actual zip line experience itself (kids 13 and 11). I hated the experience to get signed up. A family group with at least 15 kids came up behind us and were served first. Really made things negative. Super lax on the waivers and even payment and receipt. It didn’t feel super professional, but rather, a bit dicey. In the end, the kids had fun!

  • 5A must-do activity, kids absolutely loved it

Amazing experience right from the start, with the exceptional energy from the greeter. We used our Passeport Montreal without any issues. There was no line when we went at 12pm on a Sunday of the long weekend which was super nice. We bought the videos in advance and had a bit of trouble downloading them, but went back and the staff were able to help us right away. The amazing staff made this even extra special, especially in comparison with Voiles en Voiles right next door.

  • 5Quick fun adventure

Booked the day before we went, much cheaper and easier then on-site. No wait for the experience. Staff super friendly. Great zipline for the 4 of us, added a fun adventure to the day of exploring Montreal.

About Montreal

Montreal is a French-speaking island city on the St Lawrence River, with a cobbled old port, a mountain park and a lively food and festival scene.

Montreal stands on an island in the St Lawrence River, rising to Mount Royal, the wooded hill from which it takes its name. Old Montreal has cobbled streets, stone warehouses and Notre-Dame Basilica, whose deep-blue vaulted interior is covered in gold stars. Frederick Law Olmsted, designer of New York's Central Park, laid out the park on the mountain, and a lookout over the downtown towers sits near its top.

Top-ranked sights in Montreal: Old Montreal (Vieux-Montréal), Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal (Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal), Bonsecours Market (Marché Bonsecours).
