  • 5Outstanding and relaxing

Amazing experience. Accommodating and polite. The girl did two of us and took her time with both of us.

  • 1TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. NOTHING LIKE THE ADVERT!!!

Looked forward to the experience with my wife for her birthday and booked this based on the photos and reviews. The driver was punctual and friendly. When we arrived, the driver led us into a premises on a side road through a series of corridors and rooms. If I hadn’t booked through Tripadvisor, I would have seriously been a little worried that I had been scammed and about to be robbed! Fortunately that didn’t happen and was greeted by some staff who were relatively friendly. We were in a small waiting room which, like the rest of the premises, was dim, not very pleasantly decorated and DEFINITELY NOTHING LIKE THE ADVERTISING PHOTOS! We were given 2 baskets containing an unpleasant bathrobe, rubber footwear and disposable underwear, and led to a very dark massage room where we were told to change. From what we could see, it was just a normal small bland room with 2 basic massage tables. Two ladies come in and 1 asked if we would like strong or soft massage, and we requested medium which they seemed to understand. The massage felt like they just rubbed oil all over us with little effort. After around 20-30 minutes, they were done, and this was meant to be a 45 minute massage. The hammam experience was even worse! We were led into a small steam like room, sat on the warm stone slabs on each side of the tiny room and just waited till a lady (who spoke no English) came in, said something to indicate to my wife to initially stand up so she could ladle water over her, then got her to sit then lie down in various positions as she could spread some cream/ soap/ oil of some sort all over her body. she then did the same to me, after which she just left the room without saying a word. She was so incredibly unfriendly!! After what felt a very long time, we then had to shout to get someone back in, which after another few minutes the same lady did, and started repeated the same process of ladling water to wash us down, applied more stuff then scrubbed us with a scrub mitt, which admittedly was pleasant. More stuff was applied afterwards before she left yet again and we were left wondering what was happening next. I could see through the door she was just sitting with some other staff in the opposite room looking bored. After another 15 minutes or so, she came back in, quickly washed my hair and body, then rinsed me down. My wife didn’t even want to have her hair washed by her and quickly rinsed herself down. She left again, then returned, gave us our bath robes which we used to dry ourselves (including my hair!) as we were not given towels. We were then taken back to a tiny locker room when we kept our belongings and told to change back to our clothes there. We then went back to the small waiting room and given mint tea poured into little (not very pleasant) glasses. It was then I noticed the room also had a couple of hairdresser hair washing stations, and nail painting stations. DEFINITELY NOT a relaxing spa like environment like the photos!!! After waiting around 15 minutes, our driver came for us to take us back to the hotel. I did not see ANYTHING in the premises that resembled the photos, including the rooms, decor, steam and massage rooms, the sinks and taps, etc. The advert states the time to be 3hr 30mins. The driver picked us up at 4pm, drive time around 20mins, and we were finished by 6pm. I’m wondering if we have been taken to the wrong place as surely this is NOTHING like the photos and description on the advert! A truly disappointing and poor experience!!

  • 3Rushed

The message was great but it was supposed to be at 12 we got a message that our pickup has been moved to 12:40 so we wouldn't have to wait for the girls to get back from lunch. When we got there they were rushing us to get undressed to start. After we finished and where getting dressed they said to hurry up that our driver was outside then when we got outside there waz a man arguing with our driver when we asked what it was about he said the man was trying to make us go back and leave a tip. We asked to go back but he said no you don't have too. We didn't leave a tip because they were rushing us out the door and we didn't have time to dig in our bags for cash. It was a bit confusing

  • 2Friendly Service, but the Experience Didn’t Meet Expectations

I was quite disappointed with the experience because the pictures used to advertise the hammam were misleading and gave me a completely different expectation of what the environment would actually be like. Unfortunately, the setting did not meet my expectations. That said, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Ibrahim, the manager, was particularly amazing and went out of his way to look after us and make sure we were comfortable. His customer service really stood out and made a positive difference to our experience. Overall, while the environment was not what I expected based on the advertising, I really appreciated the warmth and professionalism of the staff, especially Ibrahim.

  • 3Disappointing and uncomfortable

Such a shame to have to leave a low review especially as the reception staff actually were great trying to help but the overall experience for 4 of us was not great at all. To start trying to get an answer from then is impossible to sort out collection points and times. Had to ring viator to contact them in the end. Arrived an hour early and had to ask multiple times to change location as were to far away. Got there seemed fine, very unclean place though, robes are falling apart and there was no towels given. I didn't want to be "naked" pants were not suited for me I'm a bigger girl. Lady kept pulling my costume down tried explaining I was fine to not take it off but she kept going in end thought ok just us to it's fine. Unfortunately upon opening eyes I seen the window to the door was open as men and women leisurely walked past not good at all when lying there naked. This also happened to other 3 friends I was with. I Also got soap in eye due to the communication barrier she didn't understand I was asking for a towel to wipe my eyes she kept throwing water in them. Eventually she grabbed someone when I tried to knock on a door naked to find someone as I was in that much pain to then be handed toilet roll (in a wet room haha) stuck to eyes. In end I grabbed robe from the passage and left that part isn't there fault English wasn't great but not a good experience for me feeling helpless. Then left to sit no water or tea offered as stated. Forgot about eventually found me and send for massage. Now this was lovely no complaints at all. Then we all waited 45 mins passed to be told driver would not be coming after a lot of calls they eventually did agree with help of reception but waited for nearly 1 hour 40 minuets to get back. Just wasn't great over all to be honest

About Marrakech

At the foot of the Atlas Mountains, red-walled Marrakech is famed for its maze-like medina, lively main square and tranquil riads and gardens.

Jemaa el-Fnaa, the great square at the centre of the medina, changes character through the day, from juice sellers and snake charmers in the morning to smoke-wreathed food stalls and musicians after dark. The minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque rises nearby as the city's landmark, and the souks spread north in a warren of lanes selling leather, lanterns, carpets and spices.

Top-ranked sights in Marrakech: Atlas Mountains, Tizi-n'Tichka Pass, Jemaa el-Fna (Djemaa el-Fna).
