Highlights
Fort Kochi has a long and complicated history of dates, events, conquests and colonizers. The old bungalows, towering trees and sprawling grounds all stood witness through the vast changes from a small village to a fortress, to a bustling trading post to our whimsical town of today. It is my passion to collect stories from the neighborhood elders and relate them to Fort Kochi’s historical timeline. These sprightly anecdotes make it easy for guests to recall their visit to our quaint historical village on the Arabian Sea. Come, be my guest.

About Kochi
Kochi is a port city on India's Kerala coast, with Chinese fishing nets, Portuguese and Dutch heritage, spice warehouses and backwaters just beyond.
The old quarter of Fort Kochi packs centuries of trade into a small peninsula. Giant cantilevered fishing nets line the shore, St Francis Church is one of the oldest European-built churches in India, and Santa Cruz Basilica stands nearby. In Mattancherry, the Dutch Palace holds royal murals, and the Paradesi Synagogue in Jew Town, dating from the 1500s, has a floor of blue Chinese tiles.
