You will be picked up from your hotel in Kochi around 4:30 PM and driven in an air conditioned vehicle to the Theater for a traditional 'Kathakali' Dance Show this evening (Between 05-06 :30 PM). ‘Kathakali’ is one of the major forms of classical Indian dance.  Kathakali performances tell stories in an artistic manner. The story in ‘Kathakali’ is communicated to the audience through amazing footwork and impressive gestures of face and hands complimented with music and vocal performance. The dancers wear intricate and vivid makeup, unique face masks and costumes that reflect the age-old martial arts and athletic conventions prevalent in Kerala and surrounding regions. Traditionally performed by male dancers, the art developed in courts and theatres of Hindu regions contrary to other Indian classical dances which predominantly developed in Hindu temples and monastic schools. About Kochi

Kochi is a port city on India's Kerala coast, with Chinese fishing nets, Portuguese and Dutch heritage, spice warehouses and backwaters just beyond.

The old quarter of Fort Kochi packs centuries of trade into a small peninsula. Giant cantilevered fishing nets line the shore, St Francis Church is one of the oldest European-built churches in India, and Santa Cruz Basilica stands nearby. In Mattancherry, the Dutch Palace holds royal murals, and the Paradesi Synagogue in Jew Town, dating from the 1500s, has a floor of blue Chinese tiles.
