The glamour and rich history of the Orient Express has frequently lent itself to the plot of books and films and as the subject of television documentaries. Murder on the Orient Express (1934), one of the most famous works by Agatha Christie, takes place on the Simplon Orient Express. The story brings us back to 1930s, when Orient Express is stopped by heavy snowfall. A murder is discovered, and Poirot’s trip home to London from the Middle East is interrupted to solve the case. The opening chapters of the novel take place primarily in Istanbul. The rest of the novel takes place in Yugoslavia, with the train trapped between Vinkovci and Brod.
The Galata Bridge (Turkish: Galata Köprüsü, Turkish pronunciation: [ˈɡaɫata cœpɾyˈsy]) is a bridge that spans the Golden Horn in Istanbul, Turkey. From the end of the 19th century in particular, the bridge has featured in Turkish literature, theater, poetry and novels.
Renowned crime author Agatha Christie was a constant guest of Pera Palace Hotel, and she always stayed in Room 411. It is rumoured that, it was the room, Christie wrote her popular novel, Murder on the Orient Express. Now, Room 411 is recognized as the Agatha Christie Room. The room still has its original antique furniture and lots of materials to acknowledge the departed author. Since the place serves as a hotel we will not be able to see the room but we will have a drink at the patisserie of the hotel to complete our tour.

About Istanbul
Istanbul straddles Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus, with Byzantine and Ottoman monuments, busy bazaars and ferries crossing between continents.
The historic peninsula holds the greatest landmarks. Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Hippodrome face each other in Sultanahmet, the Basilica Cistern lies beneath the streets, and Topkapı Palace spreads across the hill above the Golden Horn. A short walk away, the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Bazaar have traded for centuries, and Süleymaniye Mosque, built by the great Ottoman architect Sinan, crowns one of the city's seven hills.
Top-ranked sights in Istanbul: Dolmabahce Palace (Dolmabahce Sarayi), Bosphorus, Bosphorus Bridge (Bogazici Koprusu).
