Jemaa el-Fna Square is a famous public square in the southwest of the medina of Marrakech in Morocco. This traditional, popular and lively mecca, especially at night, attracts more than a million visitors each year.
The Koutoubia Mosque is a religious building built in the 12th century in Marrakech, Morocco. It is the largest mosque in the city. Its architecture and ascetic decor reflect the art of the Almohads. A first mosque was built in 1148 by Sultan Almohade Abdelmoumen after having conquered Marrakech.
This is one of the best market squares (though really more of a triangle) in the Medina district and is friendlier and more spacious than the souks, with ready-to-haggle vendors setting up their wares on the ground or on trestle tables.
