While visiting the Dachau Memorial Site you will learn why the camp opened and who were the first prisoners to arrive. You'll also hear about the camp's evolution, development and SS training facilities, as well as the registration, categorization and treatment of prisoners. See the Jourhaus, the entrance building and gateway into the camp, the roll call square Appellplatz, and Memorial Site Museum in the former maintenance building. Listen to your guide telling you about the barracks, prisoner life and daily routine, camp perimeter fence and guard towers, the International Memorial, Nandor Glid Sculpture, religious memorials and Barrack X, the two crematoriums, mass graves, and the gas chamber.

5A somber topic made...
A somber topic made informational and meaningful by an excellent guide (Tom). Easy transit, smaller group, and worth the price.
5Informative, knowledgeable tour, if wanting to know more about the concentration camp
It was truly knowledgeable and as uncomfortable as it can be to visit and do this kind of tour, I thought it was an extremely important tour and I got to learn a lot. Very knowledgeable and was exactly so much of the history so thank you.
5Informative and Meaningful
Very informative experience. Hein was very knowledgeable and provided helpful background information, while skillful navigating issues and delays with the train. Unfortunately the train issues cut into our time so we had to rush a lot of the experience.
5Simon was a great guide...
Simon was a great guide for this tour. He was super informative and explained things in an easy to understand way. He was happy to answer any questions we had as well.
4Visiting the past
It was an eye opener seeing these things that I had only read about. I feel privileged being able to re-visit the past. It was interesting that we took public transport to see there.
5Excellent but sombering experience.
An excellent experience with incredibly knowledgeable and passionate guide Adam. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for Holocaust awareness and understanding.

About Munich
Munich is the Bavarian capital, with a rebuilt old town, beer gardens, royal palaces and the Alps visible on clear days to the south.
Marienplatz, the main square, is overlooked by the neo-Gothic New Town Hall, whose Glockenspiel chimes with mechanical figures, and by the twin onion-domed towers of the Frauenkirche. The Viktualienmarkt close by is a food market with a beer garden. The Residenz, the former home of Bavaria's rulers, has lavish halls and a treasury, and Nymphenburg Palace stands in a park to the west.
Top-ranked sights in Munich: Neuschwanstein Castle, Marienplatz, Odeonsplatz.
