2. Make a transfer from train to the bus, the bus follows the route the prisoners were forced to march. The train station itself is the original and a majority of prisoners would have arrived there before marching to the camp.

You'll also hear about the camp's evolution, development and SS training facilities, as well as the registration, categorization and treatment of prisoners. See the Jourhaus, the entrance building and gateway into the camp, the roll call square Appellplatz, and Memorial Site Museum in the former maintenance building. Listen to your guide telling you about the barracks, prisoner life and daily routine, camp perimeter fence and guard towers, the International Memorial, Nandor Glid Sculpture, religious memorials and Barrack X, the two crematoriums, mass graves, and the gas chamber.

  Very informative experience. Hein was very knowledgeable and provided helpful background information, while skillful navigating issues and delays with the train. Unfortunately the train issues cut into our time so we had to rush a lot of the experience.

About Munich
