Itinerary
Following a hassle-free pick-up from your comfort zone in your own car, we begin our journey to the mountains. Your first destination will be the small village of Tahnaout, which is situated near the base of the High Atlas range. With the help of your well-informed Guide, you will get to explore this quaint village surrounded by olive fields. This is the perfect spot for an initial encounter with the local culture and taking photographs of the verdant landscape.
We are making an exclusive stop for an authentic Berber breakfast experience. Enjoy our local products including: olive oil, honey, and Amlou, which is an essential mix of almonds, argan oil, and honey. After the warm reception, we will show you how the women of this area create their own products at the Argan Cooperative. You will see the process of extracting this precious oil from the nut.
We will go on our way up to the village of Asni, making a stop at a specific viewpoint from which we will enjoy an incredible view of the entire valley. This place offers one of the most amazing views of the contrast between the red soil, the verdant crops, and the snow-capped mountains of the Atlas range in the distance. The guide will help you recognize all the peaks and neighboring villages.
Welcome to Imlil, the real gem that lies at an altitude of 1,800 meters at the base of the legendary Mount Toubkal. It is here that your total immersion starts. With the help of your Guide, you will embark on an easy trek through the twisting trails to explore the life of Berber villages perched in the mountains. You will appreciate the characteristic architecture made from rammed earth and the ancient irrigation system which waters the rich valley. The high point of the hike will be your visit to the well-known Imlil waterfall, a refreshing place which offers a spectacular sight of nature. Effort makes for reward, as you will be invited into a Berber household. From the terrace which offers breathtaking scenery, you will enjoy the real taste of Tagine cooked with love by a local family. Much more than just food, it will be the best moment of your stay in Morocco.
After a memorable day in the High Atlas Mountains, relax with the journey back to Marrakech. Your trip will be concluded with ease as you are transported back to your hotel.

5An Unforgettable Family Adventure in the Atlas Mountains with Youssef! ❤️
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable experience with Youssef! WOW! What an incredible day in the Atlas Mountains! This was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Morocco, and so much of that was thanks to our amazing guide, Youssef! He was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing his beautiful country and culture with us. The mountain scenery was absolutely breathtaking, the hike through the villages was wonderful, and enjoying a traditional lunch with a local family made the experience even more special. What really stood out was Youssef himself. He made the entire day feel personal, relaxed, and authentic. You could tell he genuinely cared about making this an unforgettable experience for everyone. We left with full hearts, incredible memories, and such an appreciation for the beauty and people of Morocco. If you're considering this excursion, BOOK IT! And if you're lucky enough to have Youssef as your guide, you're in for something really special. Thank you, Youssef, for an absolutely magical day! We couldn't recommend you or this experience more highly! ❤️
5Lovely day in the nature away from busy Marrakech
We've had an amazing day away from the business of Marrakech. Our guide Youssef was local to the mountains so it was more than just tourist script but also something very personal to him. The mountains were spectacular and Youssef made some stops to space out the day at the argan co-operative, had a home made lunch in a village before heading back to the city. It was such an enjoyable day out in the nature and getting to know a little more about the Berber culture. Would recommend!!
5Very very good. Excellent

5Berberdorp Imlil met lokale lunch bij berberfamilie
We really enjoyed this excursion and especially loved getting a glimpse into the daily life of a Berber family. It was great that the group was small and that we had lunch at the home of a local Berber family. The traditional Moroccan lunch was delicious! The other short stops along the way were also a nice addition to the day. The hike is very manageable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness, and you definitely don’t need special hiking shoes. One thing to keep in mind is that it can be around 15°C cooler in the mountains than in Marrakech. During our visit, Marrakech was around 40°C, so the 25°C in Imlil was a wonderful and refreshing change! 🏔️☀️ Overall, a really enjoyable excursion and a great way to experience the Atlas Mountains and Berber culture.
5Great experience

About Marrakech
At the foot of the Atlas Mountains, red-walled Marrakech is famed for its maze-like medina, lively main square and tranquil riads and gardens.
Jemaa el-Fnaa, the great square at the centre of the medina, changes character through the day, from juice sellers and snake charmers in the morning to smoke-wreathed food stalls and musicians after dark. The minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque rises nearby as the city's landmark, and the souks spread north in a warren of lanes selling leather, lanterns, carpets and spices.
Top-ranked sights in Marrakech: Atlas Mountains, Tizi-n'Tichka Pass, Jemaa el-Fna (Djemaa el-Fna).
