Highlights
Epic mountains, mystical lochs, and castles straight out of a legend - aye, this small-group tour is a cracker! We’re off on a wild ride through Stirlingshire, where the mighty William Wallace made his mark on history (think Braveheart, but real). Then, it’s time to lose yourself in the rugged beauty of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, where towering peaks, shimmering lochs, and untamed wilderness are just part of the everyday scenery. And the West Highlands? Pure magic. Think misty glens, ancient castles, and landscapes so dramatic they deserve their own film score. This is Scotland at its most breathtaking, so get ready to soak it all in! *Winter itinerary update: Doune Castle will be a photo stop only until 31 March 2027, with an extended visit to Kilchurn Castle and an additional stop at The Kelpies. Inveraray Castle is closed for the winter season from 27 October 2026 until late March 2027. Entry to Inveraray Castle is not available during this period.

Itinerary
We depart Edinburgh and make our way to Doune Castle, otherwise known as Castle Leoch in the Outlander series or Winterfell in Game of Thrones. In real life, Doune Castle is a purpose-built 14th century military stronghold, and an impressive example of medieval Scottish architecture. Optional add-on, £10.50pp. Tickets available to purchase at tour check-in.
We then make our way to the charming village of Tyndrum, which lies at the southern edge of Rannoch Moor.
Marvel at the imposing ruins of Kilchurn Castle. Known originally as the stronghold of Clan Campbell, today the castle sits peacefully by Loch Awe and is the perfect spot to pause and snap a few pics.
Inveraray is perhaps best-known for Inveraray Jail, a former prison that is now a tourist attraction. Choose to take part in an optional tour there, and make the most of your lunch break by visiting the charming village itself which boasts gorgeous views of Loch Fyne.
On the return leg we stop at one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the world, coined the "Rest and Be Thankful". This is your last chance to soak up the mountains before we return to the city, so make sure to soak it all in.
Designated as a conservation village, you will find that Luss has some of the finest traditional Scottish architecture and natural features around.

About Edinburgh
Edinburgh, Scotland's capital, rises on volcanic hills, with a castle on a crag, a medieval Old Town and an elegant Georgian New Town.
Edinburgh Castle crowns Castle Rock and keeps the Honours of Scotland, the Scottish crown jewels. From there, the Royal Mile runs downhill through the Old Town, past St Giles' Cathedral and a warren of narrow closes, to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the Scottish Parliament. Arthur's Seat, an ancient volcano, rises above the palace with sweeping views.
Top-ranked sights in Edinburgh: Royal Mile, Edinburgh Old Town, Edinburgh Castle.
