  It was great. Only feedback was that the guide moved a lot and was too fast for a young family to keep up. Felt like an aerobic class. My 9year old quit after halfway through . The variety of fish was limited to our expectations.

  My snorkeling experience was amazing! Our guide was wonderful and made the experience even better by taking great pictures and videos of us. We were together with another group, and everyone had such a great time. It was a fun, memorable, and amazing experience that I would definitely recommend!

• 5Great Snorkeling Experience!!

  We purchased this excursion on our own instead of through the ship. We had to take a taxi to the meeting point/dock, which wasn’t bad. We rode the boat out to our snorkeling point for about 10 minutes, which was very pretty. We were in the water for about 30 minutes with the crew taking lots of pictures on the GoPro, which I was so grateful for! You have to have download WhatsApp to get them, but it was easy. All in all, this was a great experience!! :)

  We had a great time as a family on this snorkeling experience. The guides were so friendly and helpful and took many pictures that they sent to us. We got an email right before the excursion that the location had changed, which felt a little sketchy but turned out OK. The taxi drivers were all confused by the address sent to us but we made it. They brought us to a little beach club to wait for the tour, which did feel like it was a coordinated effort between the club and the tour operator and we ended up spending a lot more money on lunch and drinks after we were escorted to a table to "wait" for our tour. Overall, the snorkeling and experience were great and would recommend.

  Baltazar and Manuel did a great job taking us out to the reef to see lots of fish! Bonus, they took tons of pictures of us from the boat and underwater to capture our adventure and sent us the pictures for free!

About Costa Maya

Costa Maya is the southern Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatán, a quiet shoreline of white beaches and mangroves beside the reef, with Maya ruins inland.

Costa Maya is the name given to the southern stretch of Quintana Roo's Caribbean coast, south of the Riviera Maya and close to the border with Belize. Its shore is a quiet strip of white sand, palms and mangrove, backed by low forest, and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef runs just offshore. Mahahual, a small seaside village with a long boardwalk, is the main settlement and has a dock for cruise ships. Xcalak, a fishing village at the southern tip, sits beside a protected reef park.
