3Nice guy, little information
We found it difficult to find the meeting "hut" from the ship. The van was very uncomfortable with minimal A/C. The tour guide JC was a very nice man but provided little enthusiasm and seemingly less information then other guides we came across in Chacchoben. It was difficult to here his presentation over the van noise and a tablet for his photo show would have been better then his phone.
4First Solo Trip
This was a good experience. The tour guide was knowledgeable of the Maya culture. We even stopped for pineapple that was delicious. The only thing I wish is that there would be more to do. The drive from the cruise port was long.

We had an amazing day on the tour with Octavio. He was very knowledgeable, fun, and friendly and he and the driver made the experience unforgettable overall. There was plenty of water provided and pick up and drop off were smooth. Octavio shared so much history of the Mayan culture with us and was an extraordinary guide through the ruins, making this a fantastic excursion!!

About Costa Maya
Costa Maya is the southern Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatán, a quiet shoreline of white beaches and mangroves beside the reef, with Maya ruins inland.
Costa Maya is the name given to the southern stretch of Quintana Roo's Caribbean coast, south of the Riviera Maya and close to the border with Belize. Its shore is a quiet strip of white sand, palms and mangrove, backed by low forest, and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef runs just offshore. Mahahual, a small seaside village with a long boardwalk, is the main settlement and has a dock for cruise ships. Xcalak, a fishing village at the southern tip, sits beside a protected reef park.
