About Bangalore
Bangalore, or Bengaluru, is the garden city of southern India, a technology hub of parks, palaces, pubs and filter coffee on a cool plateau.
Bengaluru, long known in English as Bangalore, is the capital of Karnataka and sits on a plateau about 900 metres up, which gives it a mild climate. The city's nickname, the Garden City, comes from public parks like Cubbon Park and the Lalbagh Botanical Garden, where a glasshouse modelled on London's Crystal Palace holds flower shows. The Vidhana Soudha, the state legislature, is one of its grandest buildings.
Top-ranked sights in Bangalore: Vidhana Soudha, KR Market (Krishnarajendra City Market), Lalbagh Botanical Gardens.
