Highlights

See Évora differently — understand the city before you explore it. Join a small-group walking tour, exclusively in English, and discover Évora through the eyes of a local. In just 90 minutes, uncover the places, stories and cultural influences that shaped the city, from Roman and medieval heritage to Alentejo traditions. Walk through the UNESCO-listed historic centre and discover landmarks such as the Roman Temple, Praça do Giraldo, Palácio de D. Manuel and the city’s historic streets. More than sightseeing, this is a relaxed introduction to Évora and the stories behind its culture, architecture and traditions. The tour explores landmarks from the outside and does not include paid monument entrances, making it an ideal first taste of Évora before deeper experiences. For groups of more than 4, complimentary audio headsets are provided. A local, personal and entirely English introduction to Évora.

About Setúbal District

Setúbal District lies across the Tagus from Lisbon, with the cliffs of Arrábida, the dolphins of the Sado estuary, fishing towns and long Atlantic beaches.

Setúbal District lies south of Lisbon on the far side of the Tagus, stretching from the estuary down the coast towards Sines in the Alentejo. Its heart is the Setúbal Peninsula, a land of limestone hills, pine woods, vineyards, fishing towns and long beaches. The city of Setúbal, on the Sado estuary, has a port, a market and the Convent of Jesus, with an early Manueline church. Palmela's hilltop castle looks over the vineyards and the estuary.

Top-ranked sights in Setúbal District: Arrábida Natural Park (Parque Natural da Arrábida), Sesimbra, Bacalhôa Wines of Portugal (Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal).
