Highlights
Ideal for those interested in this atmospheric part of the city where Birminhgam originated. We learn about how it all started as a market hamlet growing to become the ‘workshop of the world’. The Peaky Blinders TV series is based on this area. The Peaky Blinders films is being produced here and if we have time we will visit the studios where it is being filmed - great for a selfie! The area has public art of all descriptions to experience, as well as atmosperic canals to walk along and modern developments such as the coming of HS2. This is an amazing mixture of the bohemian along with the modernity of a city reinventing itself yet again. The tour is timed so that you can also take our Saturday afternoon tour from the Library of Birmingham if you want to make a day of it! The guide on the Digbeth tour is Jonathan Berg, local author who is currently writing the book: ‘Birmingham’s Public Art’ which is due to be published in 2023.

5Highly recommended and informative tour ....
Was a highly enjoyable and informative walk brought to life by Jonathan's style and knowledge. I knew the areas around Digbeth well prior to the walk, but the tour gave this knowledge context, with a particular note to our industrial heritage and more recently, the creativity of our street artists. Highly recommended!
5Expectations exceeded
This tour far exceeded my expectations. I thought I knew the Digbeth area but the tour showed me so much more. As Digbeth is changing, I think it's a tour I would take again next year.
5Fantastic Tour
A fantastic tour which comprehensively covered everything from Digbeth’s early history through to contemporary street art. Jonathan is a knowledgeable and charismatic guide and I would highly recommend his tour to anyone - tourists and locals alike.
5Top Tour
An outstanding tour - interesting and fun. Exceptional value. Would thoroughly recommend.
5A good mix of street art, history and Peaky Blinders too.
A really interesting and informative tour. I had no idea there was so much street art around the area which was worth seeing and it's good to see some of the old buildings which still remain in among all the new development taking place. Jonathan was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide.
5Like seeing a different part of Birmingham so felt engaged enough to be surprised when time was up.
Really interesting experience; I usually take pictures of street art so good to hear about the artist as well as the history.

About Birmingham
Birmingham is England's second city, a Midlands centre of canals, Victorian civic buildings, jewellery workshops and Pre-Raphaelite art.
Birmingham grew from a market town into a city of a thousand trades during the Industrial Revolution, and its canals, which fan out from the basin at Gas Street, still thread through the centre lined with bars and restored warehouses. Victoria Square has the Council House and the Town Hall, the Library of Birmingham stands beside Centenary Square, and the Bullring shopping centre sits below the spire of St Martin's Church.
Top-ranked sights in Birmingham: Chamberlain Square, Birmingham Town Hall, Centenary Square.
