Itinerary

  1. Drive through Levadia and Arachova (famous for its bright multi colored carpets) arrive in Delphi. You will visit one of the most important archeological sites in Greek history. At the foot of Mount Parnassos, within the angle formed by the twin rocks of the Phaedriades, lies the Pan-Hellenic sanctuary of Delphi, which had the most famous Oracle of ancient Greece. Delphi was regarded as the centre of the world. According to mythology, it is here that the two eagles sent out by Zeus from the ends of the universe to find the navel of the world met. The sanctuary of Delphi, set within a most spectacular landscape, was for many centuries the cultural and religious centre and symbol of unity for the Hellenic world and seat of the Pythian Games, the second most important games in Greece after the Olympics, which were held every four years.

    Admission included

  2. located at the archaeological site of Delphi. Between the sixth and fourth centuries BC, the Delphic Oracle, which was regarded as the most trustworthy, was at its peak. It was delivered by the Pythia, the priestess, and interpreted by the priests of Apollo. Cities, rulers and ordinary individuals alike consulted the oracle, expressing their gratitude with great gifts and spreading its fame around the world. The oracle was thought to have existed since the dawn of time. Indeed, it was believed to have successfully predicted events related to the cataclysm of Deukalion, the Argonaut’s expedition and the Trojan War.

    1.5 hAdmission included

  3. Visit of the archaeological site and the Museum where one can see among other archeological treasures, the unique bronze statue of the Charioteer dedicated to Apollo by Polyzalos, the tyrant of Gela, in 478 B.C. when he won the chariot-race at the Pythian Games. This incomparable statue is a representative example of the ”severe” Attic style, certainly the work of a major artist.

  • 5Day Trip to Delphi

My friends and I had a great time on this tour, in spite of the blistering summer heat! Our guide was very knowledgeable, the bus was comfortable, there were plenty of breaks for food and rest. The site was beautiful, and the museum was really interesting, especially since our guide took the time to explain the significance of the objects there. I would definitely recommend this tour!

  • 5Delphi is a great experience!

There is a great deal of walking and not much shade, so come prepared. It is well worth it. The guide was very informative and history come alive in Delphi.

  • 5Ancient Delphi Tour from Athens

★★★★★ We took this trip to Delphi yesterday and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our driver contacted us the night before to confirm pickup, then arrived right on time at our hotel entrance the next morning — very convenient. The coach ride from Athens to Delphi was comfortable, making the long drive easy to enjoy. Our guide was knowledgeable and well-organized, adding great context and detail throughout the tour. The archaeological site itself is beautifully preserved — honestly one of the best-restored ancient sites we've visited. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens who wants to see Delphi without the hassle of arranging transport themselves.

  • 5A wonderful excursion

This was a wonderful experience, especially for our teenaged grandsons. Delphi is an amazing place to visit; the bus was comfortable and the guide was wise and knowledgeable (he also gave the tour in Italian for a couple); we also loved and appreciated the wonderful lunch we had - delicious and ample. If you are in Athens and have the time, you should book this experience!

  • 5Delphi delight

Great day out and our guide Joy was exceptional and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend. I probably would have loved a more local lunch than an hotel lunch.

About Athens

Athens sets the Acropolis above a sprawling modern capital, where ancient ruins, hillside lanes and long taverna evenings sit side by side.

The Parthenon crowns the Acropolis, flanked by the Erechtheion and its porch of caryatids, and the Acropolis Museum at the foot of the hill displays sculpture found on the rock. Around it, the Ancient Agora, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Arch and the marble Panathenaic Stadium make the classical city easy to walk through.

Top-ranked sights in Athens: Acropolis, Parthenon, Acropolis Museum.
