Itinerary

  1. Early departure from Madrid to the Serranía de Cuenca, crossing the Manchego landscapes until you reach one of the most spectacular cities of Castile-La Mancha. During the journey, the guide will share curiosities about the region, its medieval villages and its history as a borderland between Christian and Muslim kingdoms.

    2 h

  2. The first stop will be in Cuenca, a World Heritage city, where a walking tour of its Old Town will allow you to discover the Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral of Santa Maria y San Julián and the Bridge of San Pablo, overlooking the emblematic Hanging Houses, symbol of the architectural ingenuity of the 15th century. The journey continues to the Enchanted City, a natural place of rock formations sculpted by erosion, with figures such as El Tormo Alto, El El Elephant or Los Amantes de Teruel, accompanied by their legends. Finally, a stop at the Devil’s Window offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Júcar Canyon, ideal for admiring and photographing the Conquense landscape.

    2 h

  3. At noon, a lunch break will be held in a typical fonda of the area, where you can taste the local cuisine: ajoarriero conquense, morteruelo, trout del Júcar or traditional sweets such as alajú (optional lunch, not included).

    1.5 h

  4. In the afternoon, the tour heads towards the Archaeological Park of Segóbriga, one of the most important Roman ensembles of the Iberian Peninsula. Among its ruins you can admire the amphitheater, the theater, the Roman baths, the forum and the Visigothic basilica, which allow you to imagine what life was like in this prosperous city more than two millennia ago. The guide will explain Segóbriga’s relevance as a mining and commercial center of Roman Hispania and its role in the expansion of Roman culture within the peninsula.

    2.5 hAdmission included

  5. Return to Madrid in the late afternoon, after a day full of history, nature and unique landscapes that combine the best of the cultural and natural heritage of Castile-La Mancha.
