5Unique Excursion
A unique excursion unlike any other. The staff was extremely friendly and cooking was fun! We even got to take our aprons home and the recipe and some spices.
5Definitely recommend this
Fun experience! Getting there was an easy 10 minute 5 dollar per person taxi ride. There are 300 taxis in the port that all charge a fixed rate of $5pp. There are lots of shops and tons and tons of beach massage gals giving 1 hour $25 massages. Cafe jaguar was great. It’s clean, lots of fans to keep you cool. They greet you with a cold water or beverage. It was really nice to not be upsold on every little thing. They treat you as a guest, like you paid for a class and if you need something, they will give it to you. Our teacher was great! He grew up in Mexico City with a mother and grandmothers who made everything from scratch every day so he learned to cook from an early age. He told us that the main foods he taught us to make are things that most Mexicans know. Overall the teaching was excellent, and the foods we learned to make , I could actually go home and recreate from common ingredients we could find in the states. Everything is from scratch and everything tasted awesome!! Totally worth it and highly recommend.
5Fun and engaging cooking class
Excellent tour! Teacher was kind and engaging. Everything was easy to make and prep was already done. They were very accommodating and hospitable, definitely recommend.
5Great time at Cafe Jaguar Cossta Maya
What a wonderful experience! The owner Colleen and her staff were so friendly and welcoming. A fun activity for a pleasant time in Mahahaul. You will enjoy this cooking class - we certainly did. Will go back again if we have the opportunity. Thanks Colleen and staff!
5Better than just sitting at the beach! (Which you can do after!)
Excellent tour! Fun to cook & eat. They were so hospitable and very genuine. The drink that’s included is amazing (you get to choose) and it’s like almost 30 oz and 3+ oz of alcohol! Get ready to relax at the beach with a massage after! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

About Costa Maya
Costa Maya is the southern Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatán, a quiet shoreline of white beaches and mangroves beside the reef, with Maya ruins inland.
Costa Maya is the name given to the southern stretch of Quintana Roo's Caribbean coast, south of the Riviera Maya and close to the border with Belize. Its shore is a quiet strip of white sand, palms and mangrove, backed by low forest, and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef runs just offshore. Mahahual, a small seaside village with a long boardwalk, is the main settlement and has a dock for cruise ships. Xcalak, a fishing village at the southern tip, sits beside a protected reef park.
