  • 3Slightly underwhelming

Views are good, but overpriced for what it is. The platform itself is quite small, but often quite crowded. Whilst some interesting info on the short walk to it, the views aren't much better than what you could see from the many free roadside lay-by's you can stop at. Staff at centre were also not very friendly nor helpful, and seemed quite disinterested.

  • 5A Memorable Glacier Experience

Riding the enormous Ice Explorer and stepping onto the glacier was a memorable family experience. Walking on the surface feels much like walking on snow, but the setting and the journey there make it special. We had about half an hour on the glacier to look around and take photos. Dress warmly—the wind made it very cold during our late-September visit. It’s a nice experience to walk on a glacier but it’s actually not so different from walking on snow. So I would say it’s once in a lifetime must.

  • 5Enjoyed the Skywalk, we...

Enjoyed the Skywalk, we didn’t realize that you can’t actually see any of the glaciers from the Skywalk.

About Jasper

Jasper is a mountain town on the Athabasca River in Alberta, inside the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, among glaciers, lakes and wildlife.

Jasper sits at about 1,060 metres on the Athabasca River, ringed by peaks, in the largest national park of the Canadian Rockies. The town grew around the railway in the early twentieth century, and elk graze on its lawns and wander its streets. The park, together with its neighbours, forms the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage site, and it is one of the largest dark-sky preserves in the world.
