Highlights
If we count Ürgüp, Göreme, Avanos and Uçhisar as the corners of Cappadocia; you will come across structures that keep the stories of different civilizations alive in every corner. Many of these are old enough to date back to the Chalcolithic period and the Hittites; while some are traces of recent history that formed the basis of Turkish civilizations such as the Seljuk and Ottoman. The valleys where Christians lived and spread and multiplied illegally due to fear of Roman oppression, the churches and madrasahs that you will sometimes come across in the valleys, sometimes hidden and sometimes neatly; houses carved into the rocks, dovecotes that have become a source of income will tell you different tales and take you to different times. Among the things to do in Cappadocia, there are the frescoes in the complex structures that we say “must see” in the Göreme Open Air Museum, the hidden paradise of Ihlara, the castles that stand out from the top as if to say “dear Cappadocia”, mosques,

The area is named after the hermit monks that carved homes and places of worship into these fairy chimneys. Pasabag has many of these fairy chimneys and some of them have been carved into rooms and even small churches, providing a unique glimpse into the way of life of the hermit monks who lived there. Cappadocia Devrent Hayal Vadisi, whose name means "deep pit and abyss", resembles a fairy tale land. Devrent, a unique place to watch the rising moon at night, has a structure reminiscent of a "U" shape.
The Seljuks used the word "Evenöz" for Avanos, meaning a town that makes pottery. Over time, its name changed and it began to be known as Avanos. Cappadocia Pottery making is one of the oldest handicrafts.
Bağlıdere Valley, also known as Love Valley, is a 4900 meter long valley that starts from Örencik on the Göreme-Uçhisar road and ends on the Göreme-Avanos road. The valley is quite suitable for walking. The vegetation and fairy chimneys in the valley are worth seeing.

About Goreme
Göreme sits in the heart of Cappadocia, a surreal landscape of fairy chimneys, cave churches and dawn skies filled with hot-air balloons.
Göreme's houses and hotels are carved into soft volcanic rock, and the town is ringed by valleys of cone-shaped fairy chimneys shaped by erosion. The Göreme Open-Air Museum gathers rock-cut monasteries and churches whose frescoes, painted by Byzantine monks, still glow with colour, especially in the Dark Church.
Top-ranked sights in Goreme: Pigeon Valley (Güvercinlik Vadisi), Devrent Valley (Devrent Vadisi), Monks Valley (Pasabag Vadisi).
