This is the original Alumni Tour™ — the first of its kind and the most professional experience in the city. Our tours are led by Cambridge students and graduates who combine genuine personal experience with a deep knowledge of the city’s history and architecture. The 90-minute tour includes iconic landmarks like the Corpus Clock, the Mathematical Bridge, and King’s College from the iconic Backs. The tour is entirely outdoors, focusing on Cambridge’s historic streets, squares, and college exteriors. If selected when booking, your experience can be enriched after the walking tour ends with a visit to King’s College Chapel, the absolute crown jewel of English Gothic architecture. You’ll pass through quiet college lanes and back lawns where Isaac Newton revolutionised physics, Charles Darwin developed his theories, and where Stephen Hawking studied and found inspiration. Learn about the fascinating story behind the design of this famous clock, noticing the details than an uninformed observer could easily miss!
Visit The Eagle pub—where history lives in every corner, from WWII airmen to the scientists of the nearby Cavendish Laboratory. With over 400 years of history, this pub holds countless remarkable stories.
Discover the place that put Cambridge on the map of the scientific world—a place that changed the history of science and the history of humanity as well.
Listen to your student-guide describe the (somewhat dark!) history of Corpus Christi College, and feel free to ask any questions about the College or student life
Hear about the reason why this is Queens' College rather than Queen's, and discover the myths that abound about the nearby Mathematical Bridge
Walk along by the famous College Backs while you learn about the history of King's College and how it is related to three different King Henrys
Home of some of the most famous Alumni, hear a student's take on the rivalry between Trinity and St John's!
Admire the magnificent profile of St John's College, known for its grand architecture and notable alumni. A perfect blend of history and beauty along the River Cam.
Get a student's perspective on the practice of the public announcement of grades, and get a glimpse into the particular traditions of the University of Cambridge while you hear about the graduation ceremony.
##IMPORTANT: this option must be selected as an upgrade of the walking tour ticket. Please, make sure that you select it. The visit of the chapel is self-guided at the end of the 90 minutes walking tour, and it is not supervised by our official guide. The duration of the visit is a basic approximation, but you can leave the chapel when you prefer.

5Rupert is the best guide!
Rupert was an amazing guide! As a Cambridge alumnus, he brought the university to life through his personal experiences and fascinating insider insights! His stories gave us a real sense of what it’s like to study and live there, beyond the beautiful buildings and famous history. His jokes and brilliant British humour made the tour all the more enjoyable. He made me feel welcome, comfortable and at ease, and helped me connect with Cambridge in a way I wouldn’t have simply walking around on my own. A memorable experience! I wholeheartedly recommend a tour with Rupert and I'd do it again with friends and family.

About Cambridge
Cambridge is an English university city on the River Cam, famed for its ancient colleges, King's College Chapel and punts gliding along the Backs.
The university, founded in the early thirteenth century, still shapes the centre, with college courts, gatehouses and chapels opening off narrow streets. King's College Chapel, with its fan-vaulted ceiling and tall windows, is the best known, and Trinity's Great Court and the Bridge of Sighs at St John's are close behind. The Fitzwilliam Museum holds antiquities and paintings, and the market square has traded for centuries.
