Experience the best of Ogden

Ogden grew as a railway junction where the first transcontinental line met other routes, and its Union Station of 1924 still stands, housing railway, car and firearms museums. Twenty-Fifth Street, once the rough edge of the rail yards, is now a row of brick buildings with galleries, restaurants and bars.

The Wasatch Mountains rise right behind the city, with ski areas at Snowbasin, Powder Mountain and Nordic Valley, and Pineview Reservoir fills the valley beyond Ogden Canyon with sailing and swimming in summer. To the west, the Great Salt Lake has its islands and salt flats, and Golden Spike National Historical Park, where the railway was joined in 1869, lies a drive to the north-west.

Utah's fry sauce comes with burgers and fries here, and the restaurants of Twenty-Fifth Street serve Mexican food, steaks and craft beer. Snow arrives in the mountains early and stays late, and summer evenings are dry and cool in the foothills.
