  • 1BEWARE- Do Not RISK IT

I was in Savannah for a work conference and had only one full day available for sightseeing before returning home. After researching my options, I booked this tour for Saturday, September 26, and was especially excited to visit Tybee Island. I confirmed my reservation, and my credit card was charged on September 24. On Friday afternoon, I left my phone in my hotel room to charge. At 3:03 p.m., I received a text asking whether we wanted to spend time on the beach, even though beach time was included in the tour description. At 4:42 p.m., I received another text stating that because I had not responded, my reservation was being canceled. I saw the messages at 5:54 p.m. and immediately called and texted, but no one answered or responded. Nowhere in the booking information was I told that my confirmed reservation could be canceled if I did not reply to a text within approximately 90 minutes. Although my payment was refunded, the cancellation occurred too late on Friday evening for me to arrange another tour. As a result, I missed my only opportunity to visit Tybee Island during this trip. The lack of communication and abrupt cancellation were extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend booking this tour.

  • 5This was essentially a...

This was essentially a ferry/uber ride to Tybee island with stops at Fort Pulaski and the Tybee Island lighthouse. Chris picked me up at my hotel exactly when he said he would, and he had some great commentary about some of the landmarks that we passed.

  • 5Motor coach tour

A highlight of our motor coach trip with Shawnee Trails to Savanna GA was a three hour drive around Tybee Island with a stop at the lighthouse. Our step on guide, Jacqueline, was a local and very knowledgeable about the area.

  • 5History buff fav

If you love history, you will love this fort, to be able to walk around the entire structure and inside the grounds was amazing.

  • 1Poor Experience with Tour Provider!

We were actually very disappointed in this tour provider. They messaged us less than 24 hours before our tour to cancel, citing 4th of July traffic as the reason. The notice was so short, that we weren't able to book anything else, like it, as there was no availability left! We had booked the tour 3 months in advance of our trip, had they not wanted to do a tour on July 4th, they should have blocked that date.

  • 5Great Tour

The van ride to Tybee Island was comfortable and our guide gave us information about Savannah and the area the entire trip. Fort Pulaski and the Lighthouse are well worth seeing and ending up at the Pier made for an end to a perfect day.

About Savannah

Savannah is a Georgia coastal city of oak-shaded squares, Spanish moss, cobbled riverfront streets and beautifully kept Southern architecture.

Savannah was founded in 1733 by James Oglethorpe as the first city of the colony of Georgia, and he laid it out on a grid built around small public squares. Twenty-two of the squares survive, shaded by live oaks draped in Spanish moss and filled with fountains and monuments. Forsyth Park, with its white fountain, is the largest green space in the historic district, and the Cathedral of St John the Baptist rises with twin spires.
